With the recent death of George Carlin, the subject of atheism and humor has been in the air. While Carlin was instrumental in using humor to carry forth a philosophical message, he was not alone. For many years Jewish comedians have used humor to go beyond the pale of accepted theological discourse. Here is [...] ... Source: www.webmasterradio.fm --- 16 days ago

I was just watching "The Jerk" the other day. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid. I still laughed out loud at the scene when Steve Martin is working at Jackie Mason's gas station when the guy shows up with the new phone books. "The new phone book's here, the new phone book's here!! I'm somebody!" I almost got that excited this morning when I saw this news on Apple Insider about the Lotus iNotes that will help take Notes messaging and calendaring to the iPhone (not to be confused with Lotus Internotes, a long ago web publishing tool). The blog post even has some really cool looking screenshots. I hope it's true. I love my Blackberry Pearl, but a nice iNotes GUI interface for email and calendaring looks so purdy and alluring that I can't help thinking it could happen someday and lure me away to iPhone-land. The new phone book is... almost here? Technorati Tags: lotus inotes , lotus notes , iPhone , steve martin , the jerk ... Source: www.mnfilmtv.org --- 6 days ago

Wow - Mad Men’s getting dark again, isn’t it? It really is starting to live up to its tagline: “Where the truth lies”. This is the legendary Jackie Mason at the height of his stand-up mastery. A brilliantly sculpted piece of work is this, and the way Jackie Mason should be remembered. No he's not dead, but he has veered into bizarre Dennis Miller-esque territory, abandoning his previous positions of indisputable logic to the opposite. Anybody who has seen his cranky YouTube rants must wonder exactly what's going on. Mason is now defending all kinds of representatives of wealth and business and defending their crimes. Anyway... This LP became notorious (in my mind at least) when Don Adams started lifting material from it for his own nightclub act. I wrote about this extensively and even posted the back and forth comparative audio here . Now Listen to the whole album - Jackie Mason: I'm The Greatest Comedian in the World... ... Many of you don't know this, but Comedian Jackie Mason was born Yacov Moshe Maza , and agrees with Kahanism on many levels. He supports the expulsion of the Arabs from Israel, and has founded the organization One Jerusalem to help keep Jerusalem United. He authored a paper, along with Raoul Felder , that read "We are brain-dead if we accept the idea that we have to guess which Arab is our next killer. We are not obligated to victimize ourselves by letting the Arabs play Russian roulette with Jewish lives. Israelis are constantly asked the same obnoxious question: 'How can you throw the Arabs out? where would they go?' The answer is, if they don't care whom they kill, why are we obligated to care where they go?” He also refused o appear in a comedy at with Ray Hanania , because he is "Palestinian." Here's to you, Mr. Mason, for showing the world that even famous Jews can see the truth about our problems. I urge all my reads to buy as many of Mr. Mason's comedy CDs as possible, even if just to give this man what he deserves. ... Source: dummiefunnies.blogspot.com --- 65 days ago

Check out this video showing comedian Jackie Mason using an offensive racial slur on ESPN. The racial slur happens around the five minute mark of this video. The ESPN commentator Joe Tessitore and Mason have a great laugh at the expense of Chinese people. Here is the transcript of these two bantering - Joe Tessitore: Teddy Atlas goes to China and I end up with you, Jackie! Jackie Mason: You don't know how lucky you are. What's he going to do in China? All he's going to see is Chinese people. You can see them in the neighborhood. (Tessitore Laughing real hard) Everytime you go to the laundry, there's another "Chinaman". You don't have to go a hundred thousand miles to meet a Chinese person. There are NO excuses for racism and especially on a network like ESPN. Tessitore should be ashamed of himself for laughing so hard as well. Mason, who calls himself "The Ultimate Jew" should never be allowed on ESPN ever again. I am surprised he didn't say the "N" word when discussing those two black fighters that were boxing. It is 2008 and racism is at an all time high on the airwaves and in the media. A radio sports host in San Francisco also used the "chinaman" slur on the air recently. You can find more about that here - http://dwizzlesworld.blogspot.com/2008/08/racism-by-media-on-china-and-chinese.html ESPN and KNBR should be ashamed of themselves for allowing people like Mason and Tolbert on the air. ...
