Over the past twenty years, Kenneth Cole has been one of the most important voices when it comes to raising public awareness about HIV /AIDS. We created this video as part of a broader effort to raise awareness about HIV /AIDS using online media tools - such as Internet video - that didn't exist two decades ago. We started this video in an attempt to answer the question: "Why are HIV infection rates still on the rise?" AIDS is no longer the disease it was in the 80s. The treatments as well the public's understanding of the virus has changed. It is no longer a gay men's disease. In fact it has become a disease that targets women and young minority members. Both of us grew up during the 90s and received a great deal of education on the HIV /AIDS epidemic, but with the virus nearing its third decade it seems that younger generations are forgetting the epidemic that defined the sexual habits and values of the generation before them. In the process of making this video we became acquainted with facets of the city that had existed for years in the cause against AIDS like ASC ( AIDS Service Center ) and amFar but were previously unknown to the two of us. In fact it was the amFar campaign "We are forgetting AIDS " placed on buses in New York City last fall that really sparked our interest in this topic. Something about it seemed to be very true. Dear BPR, I had the pleasure of meeting Emily Brandle from season 5 at the MAGIC apparel trade show in Las Vegas this past week. She was showing her line Smoke and Mirrors which was really cute. I was working at my friend's booth called REX tees. Emily was SUPER nice and adorable. We dished about Project Runway for a while and the mayhem that follows. Last night’s Project Runway After Sew had a super special surprise caller – Ms. Kenley Collins. For those of you unfamiliar with Runway ’s Little Miss Sunshine, Kenley is something of a series legend. She offends the designers. She gives the judges giant heaps of 'tude. She talks smack on Tim Gunn . Yet week after week, Negative Nancy advances to the next round. Last night, Bravo’s very own Andy Cohen, along with Runway alums Daniel V and Jack Mackenroth, asked Kenley the hard-hitting questions. (i.e. How do you feel about people, uh, really hating you?) The grand finale of my Fashion Week was the Project Runway finale show. And what a show it was. Before the season five contestants showed their collections, it was a reunion amongst familiar faces. It's always a joy seeing Runway alumni gather and mingle. The recently booted Blayne and Terri were there — all smiles — and favorites like Jay, Rami, Jillian (wearing a familiar knit sweater from her collection), Chris March and Jack Mackenroth (who I chatted with at the Jill Stuart show, he is so sweet) all made cameos. Enter Christian Siriano, who had his own Spring show the night before. Then, Michelle Tractenberg, Rachel Zoe and Harvey Weinstein were chatting about. Quite the spectacle!Anticipation grew once Heidi, Nina and Michael Kors all came out to welcoming applause. Side note: Are Heidi and Nina both wearing Roland Mouret dresses? They looked great, but I wonder if that was planned. At 9:30 a.m. the lights dimmed and Heidi appeared, microphone in hand. She said some heartfelt words to the people of Bravo and the Magic Elves (the show's producers) — saying goodbye and thanking them for five great seasons. To bring you up to speed, Runway is moving to Lifetime for their sixth season (and that will be interesting in itself). The guest judge seat remained empty.
