U.S. Rep. Stephen F. Lynch recently led a bipartisan congressional delegation to Iraq, to discuss military finance issues. The visit, according to Meaghan Maher of Lynch's office, was part of an ongoing assessment of the status of military operations and the investigation of possible fraud and abuse in Iraq reconstruction contracts. Lynch, D-9th, is chairman of the House of Representatives' Task Force on Anti-Terrorism funding. Accompanying him on the Trip were U.S. Rep. Todd Platts R-Pa., U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud, D-Maine, and U.S. Rep. Steve Chabot, R-Ohio, and several House Oversight Committee investigators. The congressmen and the investigators wanted especially to look at the new United States embassy compound in Baghdad. The compound has been the subject of an ongoing investigation due to significant cost overruns, construction delays and safety issues, Maher said. It was scheduled for completion last September at a cost of $592 million, but is still incomplete and costs have risen to more than $700 million. While in Iraq, Lynch accompanied an infantry and airborne unit patrolling south of Baghdad. In the village of Yusufiyah, he met with several local troops. "I can't say enough about the tremendous job being done by our troops," Lynch said in a press release. "I've been meeting a lot of Massachusetts soldiers, Marines, sailors and air force personnel. I am very proud of all of them. They are very courageous an ... Source: www.daily-journal.com --- 38 days ago

Flashcube Studios has released a game trailer for it’s upcoming action platformer Spectraball . This game will have players navigating a series of platforms and traps in a variety of 3D environments. The physics-based gameplay footage is set to electronic music and colorful courses that one of my friends would describe as “trippin.” It’s no geometry wars but it looks like a reasonably challenging and entertaining diversion. An Iraqi delegation was in Iran on Friday to discuss the recent upsurge in violence in Iraq, Iran's official news agency reported. The Iranian agency, however, failed to mention that the Trip comes as U.S.-backed Iraqi leaders want to pressure Iran to stop arming and training Iraq's Shiite extremists, as Washington maintains. Tehran denies that it is doing so. Senior Shiite Iraqi politicians from the ruling United Iraqi Alliance arrived Wednesday to confront Iranian authorities with what Baghdad officials described as "sufficient evidence" of Iran's support for Iraq's militias and outlaws. Haider al-Ibadi, a lawmaker from Iraqi prime minister's Dawa party, said Friday that the delegation visiting Tehran presented a "list of names, training camps and cells linked to Iran" but that "Iranians did not admit anything." "They claim they are not intervening in Iraq and they promised to exert efforts to support the Iraqi government in containing the lawbreakers and to prevent the flow of weapons to Iraq," al-Ibadi told The Associated Press in Baghdad. ...
