Ok, here is my situation. I have never stayed at an Intercontinental, but I am a Platinum Ambassador. What I am wanting to do is basically 'gift' a free night to some friends (its their anniversary). I called the Platinum number and they got me all booked and everything, but Im being told that if Im not there they wont get the platinum or ambassador status treatment. Has anyone gotten around this? If not, In your experience, do the Intercontinental hotels ID people that are checking in with points only? (They really dont seem to at holiday inn/Holiday inn express) I was thinking I would give my friends my credit card and Ambassador card for the stay. What do you think? ...
