I've seen other posts here related to this subject and since I don't live where there are any toll roads, I'm looking for some advice: Today, I received a notice from the Illinois Tollway telling me I owe them $62.60. On the notice, there's a picture of the license plate and vehicle. It's "almost" my license plate but it's definitely not my vehicle. By almost my license plate, I mean there's an extra space on mine that's not on the one pictured. Yes, it's a vanity plate. I've tried calling but the damn line has been busy all day. If they won't accept my explanation, what would you do....pay it, say the hell with it or something else? Thanks :D -- Anticipate Nothing...Expect Everything ... As of today the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will sustain a $14 million blow to its budget. That's the amount Gov. Rod Blagojevich sliced from DNR's funding as part of larger cuts to the state's 2009 spending plan. Blagojevich's ally in Springfield, Senate President Emil Jones, wouldn't go along with the House this month in trying to restore some of the money. So, absent a miracle - or a concerted legislative effort to try again, come the fall veto session - it may be curtains for certain parks services, along with dozens of employees. Also on the chopping block is Wildlife Prairie State Park's entire state operating appropriation, more than $800,000. It's a devastating blow. In one respect we can't fault Blagojevich for doing what the Legislature didn't, which was to craft a solvent spending plan. Illinois is bound by its constitution to pass a balanced budget. The one that landed on the governor's desk was an indefensible $2 billion in the red. House Speaker Michael Madigan pretty much punted, then practically dared the guv, his political rival, to do the hard work for him. That Blagojevich did. Meanwhile, Illinois' parks weren't the only casualty of his $1.4 billion total cuts; health care programs and social services lost big, too. No doubt these were difficult choices. No doubt proponents of each slashed program could offer compelling arguments to restore their funding. Nonetheless, perhaps no department has been ... SPRINGFIELD, IL – Controlled pheasant hunting opportunities will be available at 18 Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) sites this fall, and the 2008-09 season dates and permit reservation information are now available online. Fourteen of the sites will be operated by the IDNR (applications accepted starting Aug. 4th), while four other sites will continue to be operated in a public/private partnership arrangement between the IDNR and concessionaire T. Miller, Inc. (applications now being accepted). Click here for pheasant hunting permit information. Click here for more information. “We are pleased to announce that the controlled pheasant hunting program will again be available to hunters in Illinois this fall,” said IDNR Acting Director Sam Flood. “The program has been a popular one over the years and we continue to hear from hunters who value this hunting opportunity. I encourage hunters to check our IDNR website now for details on the upcoming season and how they can reserve their permits.” The controlled pheasant program is continuing for the 2008-09 season with nearly 78,000 birds produced at IDNR pheasant propagation facilities during Fiscal Year 2008. T. Miller, Inc provides an additional nearly 20,000 pheasants acquired from other sources for the public/private partnership areas. Funding for the controlled pheasant program next year may be subject to approval of proposed fee increases for the program that ... Source: www.bnd.com --- 4 hours ago

Are you ready to take a break from your job or daily routine/ the "same old same old?" Then why not join me? My car is gassed up, gps and maps ready, I just need a travel partner to make a fun road trip thru the United States happen! Time is moving on and the summer is passing by! My friend had to recently cancel going on a US road trip with me so I am looking for a travel partner/companion/co-pilot/friend/buddy to go with on what I believe will be an awesome trip with NO EXPECTATIONS. (sorry for the caps, I just want to make that point clear) I am heading WEST and looking for someone to share the scenery with. I am a single straight male teacher,42 (gulp!), who wants to take a break from the job and see some sights between here and San Diego California (do the tourist thing). I am looking for someone who has an outgoing personality, willing to camp if necessary at times, is somewhat budget conscious (motels, camping, hotels etc.), and is really interested in the sights and sounds of the open road. My itinerary is flexible but I would like to include : Indianapolis, The Badlands National Park, Yellowstone, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Phoenix, Albuquerque San Diego or L.A but if the "world's biggest ball of yarn" or whatever roadside attraction takes me/us away from the plan no problem really. I would like to leave as soon as possible and I figure the trip will take 2 weeks. I would supply the car and a good portion of the gas expenses and ... Source: www.bnd.com --- 12 minutes ago

If you have an e-mail account or run a Web site, chances are that you have had your taste of spam. Not the canned meat variety, mind you, but the unsolicited, electronic junk mail kind that seems to inevitably sneak its way into your inbox. And if you live in Illinois, chances are you have had your fill of spam, too. According to a recent survey by MessageLabs, an Internet security firm, Illinois ranked as the most “spammed” state in the nation, with junk messages accounting for an average of 92.1 percent of total e-mail traffic. The report pegged the national average at 86 percent. Matt Sargeant, an anti-spam technologist at MessageLabs, said the company created the ranking after analyzing the spam levels of its customers across the country. Saying it was impossible to pinpoint a reason why Illinois topped the list, Sargeant speculated that a low priority on Internet security or Chicago’s position as a financial hub could play a role. Steve Ferguson, owner of SpyderHost.net, a local Web design and developing company, said junk e-mails offering low-interest mortgages or racy adult entertainment have practically become a fact of life for those on the Internet. Most people end up on spam lists after having their addresses harvested off Web sites and rolled into databases. “Everyone gets their share of spam. It just depends on how widely you use your e-mail account and what for,” said Ferguson. “There is a lot of money to be made in ... Source: job.domesticsale.com --- 10 hours ago
