Tom Willits of Id Software took some time recently to speak about storytelling as it relates to Id's previous games, and how it will be a part of their upcoming shooter, Rage. He also dispelled rumors that Rage would suffer content cuts due to Xbox hardware limitations. Unfortunately, he called into question whether mods will be a possibility for the game, saying that the issue is still under consideration. Read more of this story at Slashdot. ... Are you well-versed in your first-person shooter history? Do you like deathmatch? Do you have all the games made by FPS genre innovator and Rage developer Id Software? If your answers were "no," "yes," and "no," then this weekend is the weekend for you! Valve just announced that its digital distribution service Steam has a weekend sale for all Id Software games, and they're all 50 percent off. But wait, there's more! Like this quote from Valve's Doug Lombardi: "This includes the Id Super Pack for only $34.99 (over $200 worth of games). Or take 50% off individual titles such as Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein, Commander Keen, Heretic, and Hexen. Offer ends Monday, September 8." Shacknews readers are reminded that this very site started as a blog centered on Id's seminal shooter Quake and is an essential part of gaming history. ... Filed under: Downloads , FPS , Rage Valve's weekend sales on Steam are usually just one or two titles but this weekend its a boatload of games that are now just 50 percent off for this weekend only. All of them are part of the Id Software Super Pack that was introduced last year during QuakeCon.That means all of the games in the Super Pack are really cheap via Steam; all the Doom, Wolfenstein, Quake, Heretic/Hexen titles and expansion packs are involved in this sale (except for Enemy Territory; Quake Wars and Quake IV, the latter of which for some reason has never been available for Steam download). If you want to get all of the games at once that's the best deal of all as the entire Super Pack, priced at an already resonable $69.99, is on sale this weekend only for just $34.99. That's 22 total games for less than the price for one regular retail new PC title. Read | Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments ... Find more results for Id Software on RSSMicro.com |
