The love affair between iPods and airplanes is nothing new--heck, they've even been to space , for crying out loud. According to a report on Times Online , Air New Zealand is now preparing to scale this relationship to greater heights , with the inclusion of Panasonic's X Series in-flight entertainment system in a fleet of eighteen aircrafts.
Once outfitted with this high-end gadgetry, passengers who own iPods (which, as we know, is pretty much everyone in the world ) and even other portable media players will be able to hook them up to the system and listen to their music through the aircraft system, watch videos on seatback screens (not applicable to shuffle owners, of course), and control them through the unified custom interface.
The New Zealanders among our readership will be pleased to know that this is going to be implemented "in the near term", so the next time you plan a flight journey, you might do well to load that IPod and carry it along for the ride.
