I've been pretty happy with my upgraded original IPhone, but to use it as my primary device I have had to forward my T-Mobile number to my AT&T IPhone. After just one week, I was pleased to see those excellent developers at the IPhone Dev Team post news that the IPhone 2.0 jailbreak and unlock tool has been posted and named Pwnage Tool. With the recent release of IPhone firmware 2.0, the homebrew Team has come up with a video showing off its new IPhone PwnageTool 2.0 designed to jailbreak the new firmware update. PwnageTool 2.0 will be a windfall for those users who enjoy installing third party applications into their Apple gadgets. In fact, they mentioned that "it should be as easy enough for your grandmother to use". They recently posted this video of ssh access on the IPhone 3G. Not only have they succeeded in hacking into the phone, they say that apple can't fix it without a hardware change.
