I got hit with this one (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r20167428-Credit-Card-Fraud-PW-EAUCTION-aka-Pacific-Webworks) I get calls almost daily from vendors claiming I am signing up for junk I didn't, even after killing my credit card! One of the vendors that called me felt bad for me and gave me the jokers IP and email Address (gmail). The local police force claims beacuse the illegal activity was conducted out of there jurisdiction, they cant do anything. What do you guys suggest? I tried installing itunes 8 and had problems. Takes for ever to load icons and task bar. Also noticed lan connection icon not connecting. Repair says no IP Address. When it does boot up and icons come up anti virus says no IP Address for mailscan. Any ideas on what is happening and most important solutions? Not with cable modem or connection. I have 2 Tivos, a Series 2 and a Series 3. Tivo Desktop "sees" both Tivos, but I am only able to transfer to/from the Series 2. When I try to look at the Series 3 "Now Playing List," a message is displayed stating "Tivo Desktop is unable to contact the DVR. This could be due to network problems ..." From within Tivo Desktop, when I go to Server->Tivo Server Properties ->Access Control, it shows the correct IP Address for the Series 2, but it shows my router's Address for the Series 3 (192.168.168.1). The Series 3's IP Address is now actually 192.168.168.34. The Series 3 is able to see the P.C., and from the P.C. I can browse to the Series 3 from a browser. The Router's log shows the Series 3 is connecting to the Internet using 192.168.168.34, which is what I expect. My PC's Address is 192.168.168.36, so everything is no the same subnet. I have also tried assigning the Series 3 it a static Address (192.168.168.15), but this did not change anything. Both DVR's are using Wireless G Tivo branded Network adapters, and my router is a Linksys WRT54G. The PC is Ethernet hard wired into the router. Both DVR's are configured to allow transfers at Tivo.com, and both have the same Media Access Key. Does anyone know where Tivo Desktop stores the DVR's IP Address? I have searched the registry for this but was not successful. I have also tried uninstalling / reinstalling Tivo Desktop, and have rebotted the Series 3. At this point, I am completely out ...

I have bound ZCM to a single IP Address using the configuraiton outlined in "http://wiki.novell.com/index.php/Talk:Binding_ZCM_to_a_Single_IP_address". Everything is good. I have figured out how to tell zman that ZCM isn't running on "localhost". (The --host switch to specifies the bound IP Address.) When I run "novell-zenworks-configure -c SystemStatus" I get the error message: "WARNING:ZENworks Control Center Unable to establish an HTTP connection to http://localhost:80/zenworks/zccstatus. Ensure that the web server is started." Is there a line I can add to novell-zenworks-configure.properties or some command line that will make this status check work correctly? ...

I know this is probably "elementary", but I'm confused about the cluster IP Address scheme. Is it possible for my Master IP Address to be an internal Address (ie, 192.168.1.100), and all of my resources also assigned on the 192 subnet? My front-end servers have 2 nics (one assigned an external IP Address to be accessible to end-users. And one internal IP Address (192)). I can't get my cluster to work using 192 addresses. But I can if I use external addresses. I don't want to use up a bunch of external IP addresses, so I'm trying to figure out how to make the internal addresss scheme work for me. I upgraded from windows 2003 to windows 2008 (enterprise edition for both)...and upgrade was fine (all drivers updated too). when I put in the IP Address...and click ok...the IP and subnet mask go to 0.0.0.0. the gateway and dns server stays. i go to the 2nd tab (tcp v4), and I see 0.0.0.0 for the IP, then the 10.5.x.x that I entered. I remove the 0.0.0.0 and go back to the original box..and I see it the way I set it up. I click ok..and the same as before. Is there some type of ipautoconfiguration or something that keeps putting this 0.0.0.0 in there..and how can I turn it off? this is just a test server. any help is appreciated. it is a dell2650, broadcom netxtreme and intel xt NICs (no teaming). thanks. steve ...
