It may be a safe assumption that Frontenac head volleyball coach Cassie Buche is starting to see a lot of improvement in the Raiders. After going 0-2 at Girard last week and finishing the week at Cherryvale by not making the finals, the Raiders needed something to put them back on track. Enter Tuesday when Frontenac knocked off Humboldt 2-0 (25-19, 25-20) and Yates Center 2-0 (25-11, 25-11). “The physical aspect of our game keeps getting better and better and, I think, they started to relax and play their game tonight,” Buche said. Not to mention the fact that the Raiders are fresh off a long Saturday tournament. “We played six teams on Saturday so it makes for a long week,” Buche said. In their win against Humboldt, Jena Standlee had five kills to go along with her eight service points. Hannah Ketterman added seven service points and 16 assists. Katie Kotzman picked up six kills while Emily Barto had five. Against Yates Center, Alyssa Snow led the Raiders with 19 service points and Standlee had five kills and three blocks. Kotzman and Barto each picked up four kills while Ketterman had 13 assists.
