Priscila Rodriguez had only been dating Gerson Funes-Reina for a few weeks when she cut a hole in her bedroom window screen so her boyfriend could sneak inside her family's east Houston home. Dressed all in black, Funes-Reina wore gloves and carried a length of nylon rope. Once inside, the 18-year-old from Honduras handed his 17-year-old girlfriend a pair of ear plugs. ...

Tokio Hotel brings its Teen angst to Houston German band Tokio Hotel has become an angsty, international Teen sensation largely because of androgynous, 18-year-old singer Bill Kaulitz, whose image equal parts Joan Jett, '80s-era Cher and waif-thin emo pinup and shy demeanor have made him an unlikely heartthrob. The group's English-language debut, Scream, was released in May and has endeared the band to the TRL set. Kaulitz and his Hotel crew, including twin brother Tom, are already superstars overseas. The band has sold more than 5 million albums of restless youthful anthems throughout Europe. Tokio Hotel is up for best new artist and best pop video at next month's MTV Video Music Awards, a sure sign of impending Teen domination. Kaulitz recently talked with the Chronicle's Joey Guerra about those nominations and dished on Texas and the Jonas Brothers: Q: What are your impressions of the U.S. as you've been touring? A: It's been a really amazing trip so far. We'd only played in New York and L.A., but to travel the country and meet fans all over is really amazing. Chicago is great, and Las Vegas is just overwhelming. Q: What are you expecting from Texas? Be honest. A: We've never been here before, and we're just excited to see another part of the States. As far as we know, Texas is the land of oil, horses, cowboys and big barbecues. Q: Are there differences between U.S. and European fans? A: You can't differ concerning the country. All ...

Continental Airlines told investors Thursday that Hurricane Ike cost the airline an estimated $50 million. But on the other hand, the Houston-based carrier says it expects unit revenues -- revenues per seat per mile -- to be up "by low to mid-Teen percentages" in October and November compared to the same periods in 2007. Continental has been expecting a good September until Ike came calling. It has projected lower loads on domestic routes, but thought fares would more than offset the decline in percentage of seats filled. Here's what Continental had to say in its Securities and Exchange Commission filing: The year-over-year domestic mainline RASM [revenue per available seat mile] trend for September was generally performing according to the Company's expectations prior to the hurricane. However, as a result of the hurricane, Continental suspended service at its Houston hub beginning mid-day on Friday, September 12 through Sunday, September 14, and recommenced service at its Houston hub beginning on Monday, September 15. Much of the City of Houston was without power for the following week and many businesses and schools are just now returning to normal schedules. This has resulted in Houston load factors being negatively impacted, driven by less-than-expected Houston origin and destination traffic. Passenger traffic for people starting and ending their trips in Houston declined 22 percent for the week of Sept. 15, Continental said ...

Dear Annie: My wife and I have been happily married for more than 25 years. We both work, but I run my own business out of our home. Several times a week I like to cross-dress. I’m talking clothes, wig, makeup, the works. I find the feel of women’s clothing enjoyable and stimulating. I am very discreet about it, and my wife doesn’t know. However, my wife will be retiring soon, which means she will be home all day. I hate to give up something I enjoy so much, but I worry if I tell her, it could mean the end of our marriage. Your thoughts? Sometime She-Male Dear Sometime: The urge to cross-dress can be very powerful, and unless you are certain you can stop doing it, your wife will eventually find out. It’s better to discuss it with her rather than risk her coming across your size 12 high heels. Such a surprise will only add a sense of betrayal to her confusion. A lot of women fear cross-dressing means Hubby is gay. This is generally not the case. Your wife needs reassurance of your love and fidelity. Please contact The Society for the Second Self (tri-ess.org), P.O. Box 980638, Houston, TX 77098-0638, for information and help. Dear Annie: I was happy to hear my cousin and her family were in town for an extended stay, so I invited them over for a cookout and an afternoon swim in our pool. Before this, however, we attended another such get-together and got an eyeful of her pre-Teen children. Boisterous, I can understand. But bullying ...
