British GP: Qualifying notes - Honda ... Source: www.motorsport.com --- 32 days ago
Hockenheim was the scene of the most closely-fought qualifying session of the season. The entire grid was separated by two seconds in Q1 and the Honda Racing F1 Team improved its RA108 cars with each run. Jenson Button qualified 14th improving on recent form, while Rubens Barrichello will line up in 18th for tomorrow's German Grand Prix. Grip levels had changed a lot between this morning's final practice session and the start of qualifying, primarily due to the blustery wind conditions. As a result, both Honda drivers took to the track early in Q1 to ascertain what changes needed to be made to their cars. They set their fastest laps of Q1 in the dying moments of the session. Jenson's effort of 1:15.993s placed him 15th and just 0.1s shy of a place inside the top 10; Rubens was 0.2s slower than his team-mate but back in 18th place. ... ... Round eleven of the 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship takes the Honda Racing F1 Team to Budapest for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The 70-lap race is one of the most technically and physically demanding of the year, thanks to the twisting and tortuous nature of the 4.381km (2.722-mile) Hungaroring. Hungary has been a regular fixture on the F1 calendar since 1986, when more than 200,000 people turned up to see Nelson Piquet win the inaugural race in a Williams-Honda. Since then Honda has won at the Hungaroring on five further occasions, the most recent victory coming in ... ... Source: www.pitpass.com --- 21 days ago

It was a difficult qualifying session for the Honda Racing F1 Team at Silverstone today. An untimely rain shower led to both drivers being knocked out after Q1 as Rubens Barrichello qualified in 16th position and Jenson Button in 17th. Rain clouds were looming overhead as Q1 got underway, so both drivers took to the racetrack immediately to capitalise on the dry conditions. Rubens completed one run to set a time of 1:22.510, while Jenson did two laps to post a time of 1:22.312. The drivers then made subtle changes to the set-up of their RA108s before taking to the track once again. They both improved their times, Rubens lapping in 1:21.512 and Jenson in 1:21.685, but they were still down in 16th and 18th positions respectively as rain began to fall at the southern end of the track, around Stowe and Club corners. ... ...
