Makes me really want to use more veggie oil and soy flour when I find out they use Hexane (a major part of Gasoline) to extract the oil from the ground soybeans. Another item I am adding to my list of food to avoid. Some sort of deadly (regulated) acid is used to make high fructose corn syrup. Did you know that while making commercial laundry soap that if there is a spill (even 1 premixed bottle) the workers are REQUIRED to put on gas masks? We wonder why cancer is killing in such abundance !!!! ...

Washington Post: ... The United States is trying to choke off the 130,000 barrels a day of Gasoline that oil-rich Iran imports because it lacks adequate refining capacity. News reports Wednesday said Royal Dutch Shell Group would no longer sell Gasoline to Iran, though industry sources said Shell has not sold Gasoline to Iran since last year. Trading giant Vitol also has said it would end Gasoline sales to Iran. But oil industry sources said that Iranian front companies were securing Gasoline supplies from Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and from Bahrain, and that some companies in Iraq were making purchases on Iran's behalf. "All you are doing is transferring sales from one company to another," said a trader in Kuwait. As the United States seeks to rally international pressure, Iran has taken steps to wean itself from imports, which provide 40 percent of its Gasoline supplies. Though Gasoline there is still heavily subsidized, costing 38 cents a gallon, the government has cut quotas. The U.S. Energy Information Administration said Iran's refinery investments would make it self-sufficient by 2013. Iran also has been stockpiling Gasoline; in January, the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Co. said inventories rose by 3.77 million barrels in nine months, enough to supply all the country's needs for about a month. ... Crude oil rose to an eight-week high and Gasoline surged after a government report showed that U.S. fuel supplies declined as demand climbed and refineries idled units. Gasoline inventories dropped 2.96 million barrels to 229 million in the week ended March 5, the Energy Department said. Total fuel consumption increased 0.2 percent to 19.7 million barrels a day, the highest level since August. Refinery operating rates fell for the first time in five weeks. “The big driver over the last few weeks has been Gasoline, and that’s backed up by today’s numbers,” said Richard Ilczyszyn, a Chicago-based senior market strategist with Lind- Waldock, a division of MF Global Ltd. Crude oil for April delivery rose 60 cents, or 0.7 percent, to $82.09 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the highest settlement since Jan. 11. Futures are up 80 percent from a year earlier. Gasoline for April delivery climbed 2.48 cents, or 1.1 percent, to end the session at $2.2851 a gallon in New York. Heating oil for April delivery increased 2.64 cents, or 1.3 percent, to $2.1162. The 17 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News before the report’s release were split over whether Gasoline inventories increased or declined last week. Gasoline Consumption Gasoline demand rose 1.2 percent to an average 8.99 million barrels a day, the report showed. Consumption of the fuel peaks during the so-called driving season, which lasts from the Memorial Day weekend in late M ...

This is from ThaiVisa. There's no indication of where they got the information. I can't find any other reference to it on the net. It might be breaking news from their chums at the Nation? Quote: BANGKOK: -- Fuel deliveries and community television and radio stations are the latest target of the Thai government in the lead-up to the mass rally by red-shirt protesters this weekend. Early this morning government lawyers applied to the Thailand Supreme Court for an order closing all radio and television stations affiliated with the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD). At the same time the Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT) announced on Thai Business Channel that it was suspending all fuel sales and deliveries to Bangkok and surrounding provinces commencing tomorrow. A spokesman for the Peoples Television Channel said equipment was already being removed from the stations studio at Lardprao to an off-site location in preparation for this weekends rally and it was expected government officials and police will arrive at the studio with an order to cease broadcasting at around 1pm. “We’ve informed red-shirt supporters of the plans of the government and they will be gathering here prior to 1pm in an attempt to stop the order being served and the removal of equipment”, he said. Sean Boonpracong, international media spokesman for the UDD, said if the government attempted to close-down the community broadcasters the UDD had ...

Renowned for its massive upstream oil potential and pioneering use of ethanol refined from sugar cane, Brazil last month surprised products traders with rare imports of Gasoline. Is the South American nation set to become a major market fuel importer? Nope. But with Brazil increasingly relying on ethanol supplies that fluctuate with the vagaries of the sugar cane crop, it may provide an opportunity for Gasoline traders to sell a few cargoes over the next five years until state-run Petrobras ramps up its refining circuit. "Over the medium term, if Brazil grows quickly as is expected, it may end up with recurrent imports of Gasoline," Adriano Pires of the Centro Brasileiro de Infraestrutura said. Brazil is the world's fifth-largest producer of motor vehicles, and in less than a decade it will likely boast a fleet of cars that can, with a few exceptions, run on any combination of ethanol and Gasoline. The technology known as "flex fuel" lets drivers choose the cheapest way to fill their tanks. With strong economic growth expected for the coming years and a 10 percent jump in car production slated for this year alone, cane mills are struggling to bring new capacity on-stream fast enough to keep up with ethanol demand. Billions of dollars every year have been going into new cane planting and milling capacity, and dozens of new mills -- which generally favor ethanol over sugar production in their early operations -- are starting up every ...
