  On Friday, Sept. 26, Marshfield Youth Baseball will hold its Third Annual Golf Fundraiser at Crosswinds in Plymouth. An 8 a.m. Shotgun start is planned. A huge element of any successful Fundraiser is sponsorships! In Marshfield, with professionals, service industries, and retailers, we have a great source of financial support that baseball, in general, has not been the beneficiary of, in large part because we have not aggressively approached these potential support sources. Well, we are now! We want to develop a Baseball Program that is the envy of all surrounding communities. To have the financial support of the business community is a must, that will enable us better develop training programs for the coaches and kids, as well as make much needed improvements on the fields. Online (www.marshfieldyouthbaseball.org) is our Golf Sponsorship Program (hit the "Home" tab). There are many ways businesses can support the tournament, with several levels of support, right down to providing Gift Certificates and/or prizes for the Raffle. Supercoups of East Taunton and Brown Chiropractic Centers of Brockton are sponsoring a lemonade stand Fundraiser at Brown Chiropractic Centers, 45 Pearl St., 2nd floor, in Brockton. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will raise money for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, the purpose of which is to help doctors and researchers discover new life-saving treatments for children who are seriously ill with cancer. The foundation was started as a result of four-year-old Alex Scott who at the age of four sold lemonade in his front yard to help fight cancer. Scott died of the disease four years later. Helping run Thursday's event will be Dr. Brown's two daughters, ages nine and 11.   ...
