Last night I had a problem. Computer just wouldn't do anything. I brought up task manager and it showed that FireFox was using 99% of my CPU. I had nothing else running. I tried to exit FireFox and took over an hour for it to finally close. I'm a newbie to FireFox. Is there any reason this happened and is there any reason this could happen again? F Image via Wikipedia irefox addons. I love 'em and I hate 'em :) But I have them working for me at last to stop FireFox slowing down. I have quite a few installed, but most of them are turned off. This means I can use them by restarting (which is pretty quick, and since FireFox 3 I can save and quit, so it remebers what pages I have open). So what are your favorite extensions and why? I'll print my list below, but there is one which is great but it's a huge mother! Cool Iris . Why is it nearly 5mb? Being a front end designer firebug , colorzilla and measure it are really good. But I while I 'need' them, I want to keep this list more generalized… Ubiquity ... It might not be perfect yet, but it is so bloddy awesome. Twitter, bookmark, lookup maps, check email… It is incredible what you can do with this. Feedly . If you have like RSS/ feeds you just might like this. This is one you either love or hate. I think it is excellent What Cool Iris can do is incredible. We have never seen anything like that before. The granddaddy of cool, Greasemonkey. It get's your brwoser doing stuff you never thought possible. Scribefire is relly useful if you blog yourself imo Oh yeah! there is also one I hate :p Delicious. I love delicious.com (I have 4000+ bookmarks), but I use the bookmarklet. Whenever I am stupid enough to install the addon, it starts syncing and FireFox ends up on it's knees and I want to smash something :) So whoever is involved with ... This is a really weird bug. I upgrade my ubuntu version to 8.10. Since then i am experiencing problem with my ALSA sound. In early April we reported on an early prototype of FireFox Mobile . Code-named "Fennec", it was only recommended for use on Nokia N810 devices. At the time, we felt that FireFox Mobile showed a lot of promise. Today screenshots have surfaced showing FireFox Mobile running on the Windows Mobile OS. We can't deny that we still think it shows promise and we're eagerly anticipating its release. With a reported Acid3 Test score of 88/100, the mobile web browser looks nearly complete in the screenshots that have surfaced . The address bar is reminiscent of Safari on the iPhone. Remember how we said the alpha release of FireFox Mobile would be out "in a few weeks?" That still stands. But new this weekend are some leaked screen shots to whet our appetites that much more. Code named Fennec, the browser will be Mozilla's first in the Mobile space and will compete with the likes of Opera Mobile , Skyfire , the Webkit-based Iris and, of course, pocket IE.
