"And you can take it from me," the actor added. " I fall off a bike a lot." McGregor, best known for portraying the young Obi-Wan Kenobi in the "Star Wars" series, earned a name as a motorcycling TV adventurist with his first trans-global trip with his biking pal Charley Boorman , "Long Way Round." The 2004 series shot during their trip, from England to New York, going east, just finished another run on Fox Reality, where it premieres its sequel "Long Way Down" tonight, which takes a more surprising journey: from the tip of Scotland south through Europe to Africa and all the way across that continent, north to south. Falling on his bike was indeed a problem, especially because the road conditions were so bad - or nonexistent - in some places. Many tried to talk them out of visiting Africa for other reasons, he said. "Some of them were quite shockingly negative about Africa, and there's a huge amount of kind of fear-mongering about Africa as a continent," McGregor said. As you can tell, it shows the two lead characters of the movie, Jim Carrey as real-life con artist Steven Russell and a bottle-bleached Ewan McGregor as Phillip Morris, on the cusp of a kiss. It certainly is an interesting choice for the studio to release this as the first photo, but I suppose the point may be to clearly set the stage for the "dark comedy." Phillip Morris is based on a true story of cell mates, Russell and Morris, who fall in love while incarcerated together in a Texas jail. "I promised my kids I wouldn't be gone so long," Ewan, who previously did a journey from London to New York for another special, "Long Way Around," tells ET. "That is the tough part -- being away from your family. That is one of the reasons I am reluctant to do another one right away."
