The Croatian boss has said he wants to lead his country to the next World Cup but a bad result and big money offer could change his mind, says "Knowledgeable" Nik Wardle. Alan Curbishly has become the Premier League's first managerial casualty of the season and two ex-Hammers are amongst the favourites to replace him. Who does largely depends upon who fancies working at a club where the manager seemingly doesn't decide who he buys and sells. And for the first time ever, the odds are that West Ham will appoint a non-British boss. Firstly I must say I admire Curbishly for resigning. Many in his position would have hung on until they were sacked (which I think was inevitable), in order to get their contract paid up. The fact he kept West Ham up a couple of seasons ago shouldn't be forgotten, nor should the improvement West Ham made last year in finishing mid-table. True, he did spend decent money on several injury-prone players but all-in-all; I think he leaves the club with his reputation in tact. Ex-player Slaven Bilic is the current favourite at [5.6]. He has reiterated his desire to lead Croatia to the World Cup but who knows what a bad result at home to England in the upcoming qualifying game could do to his thinking - as well as a huge contract offer. He's galvanised Croatia in a similar way that Jurgen Klinsmann did to Germany and would be a popular appointment with the West Ham fans. Paolo Di Canio is one of the all-time cult hero ... Well, I'm back in "Blighty" (that's slang for Britain). I've been trying for the last 2-3 weeks to find jobs in the UK. Since I wrote a while ago "Which Database to Choose When Looking for a Job" , I wanted to continue it with some of my findings. I did a lot research on IT specific Job sites and used 2 main searches, "database developer" (because that's what I want to do) and "mysql" to help me find Job posts that I was interested in. Jobs Situation for "Database Developer" I'll describe the results for this search in percentages. Firstly, 90% of the jobs are for MS SQL server. Those jobs usually stick to mainly developing and not administrating. In those 90% you have a good mix of junior positions(22-28k GBP per year), medium paid positions (30-45k GBP per year) and advanced positions (50-70k GBP per year). The second 5% are for Oracle developers. Almost always it is developing and DBA'ing. The positions are usually medium positions (40-55k GBP per year) to advanced positions (60-90k GBP per year). The third 4% are for Data Analysts. Usually this would mean 80% chance of MS SQL and the rest would be Oracle or mixed Oracle and MS SQL experience. Data Analysts are usually half ETL developers (because they need to get the data first) and half report builders. You would probably have to have some data warehouse experience. Jobs pay 30-55k GBP accordingly and mainly require you to know SQL, some statistics and a lot of experience. The la ... Source: daintykitty.typepad.com --- 37 days ago

Wembley is sold out for this Saturday's World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan; anyone would think Fabio Capello's men had just stuffed Croatia 4-1 in Zagreb! For the first time in his reign, the Italian prepares for a match with a team high on confidence, backed wholeheartedly by the traditionally fickle England followers, but that doesn't make his Job any easier. The reason? The notable absence of Steven Gerrard last month. Widely considered one of only two truly world-class players in the England squad (alongside Wayne Rooney), an XI which deliberately excludes a fit Gerrard is almost unthinkable. Capello could take... ... Source: thosewithvisualsnow.yuku.com --- 17 hours ago
