This game is starting to kick my ass. There are now only three clans in Japan: one clan that has one province, the Oda clan that controls all of northern Japan, and my clan that controls all of southern Japan. The Oda are starting to slowly take control of my northern Territory, and it's not looking like I'll have the resources to stop it. I've learned a few lessons. First, never let a clan get too powerful. Establish alliances with the neighboring clans and try to keep them at even strength. Second, don't be afraid of a temporary retreat. Third, formations are of key importance. Of course, they're not really FORMATIONS in that units will adopt positions. Rather, they're five minute powerups. Attack formations will boost attack strength to ungodly proportions, defense formations will make foot soldiers tough as nails and characters virtually unkillable, and speed formations will give troops speed that exceeds the fastest horses. They each have different levels, and in the case of ties, defense defeats attack, attack defeats mobility, and mobility defeats defense. What that means is if an Enemy busts out a level 3 defensive formation and you don't have a level three mobility formation to counter it, you have five whole minutes of getting your ass whooped to look forward to. The sharply tougher tone from Washington came after Russia defied mounting international pressure and opened a new front in its five-day-old war with Georgia yesterday, sending tanks and troops deeper into the Territory of its southern neighbour. "Russia has invaded a sovereign neighbouring state and threatens a democratic government elected by its people. Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century," Mr Bush said.
