Eli Stone is BACK. WOW. What a way to start the new season. Sigourney Weaver as "God" (apparently uncredited). Thank GOD they didn't go with James Earl Jones (cliche!). I'll take her over George Michael any day! When she said "She you soon" to Eli, I knew something might be up, but I wasn't guessing what what ultimately be her true identity. On a smaller note, it was terrific to see Debrah Farentino as Jordan's wife. I've been a fan of hers since "Earth 2." Didn't care for her hairstyle though. ;) Whenever this show is over, I always get a terrific feeling..almost giddy. For me it pushes all of the right buttons and never becomes overly sentimental or corny (although I am sure some would disagree). I was actually kind of afraid they were going to kill off Jordan though. Victor Garber is also a personal favorite of mine, so thankfully it didn't turn out that way. Ummm....is Natasha Henstridge pregnant??? And the subplot about the mortgages, that was so timely it was almost eerie. I wonder when they filmed this...within the past month? Or are they writers just that good? ;) Kudos to Blake Neely's always moving score and Stargate Digital's nice crane crash sequence! I didn't realize how much I missed this show until tonight. It might be my favorite show on television right now. ...

"Eli Stone" -- the ABC comedy/drama/fantasy/musical -- returns today for a second season. Last year's midseason series about a lawyer who has musical visions ended with a cliffhanger questioning whether the visions were real or the result of a brain tumor. Surgery to remove the tumor at the end of the season would suggest the series creators will need to make a decision about the source of Stone's gift. One thing is certain: If the visions go away there will be a lot less singing and dancing for the cast. Stone's visions can range from solo performances by rocker George Michael to elaborate production numbers by the entire cast. Some of the show's cast members came to the series better equipped than others to handle the musical numbers. Jonny Lee Miller, who plays Eli Stone, didn't have to do much singing or dancing in the films "Trainspotting" or "Aeon Flux." And Natasha Henstridge never broke into song in either "Species" or "Species II." The producers were just looking for good actors. It was a bonus that cast members like Loretta Devine, who appeared on stage in "Dreamgirls," could carry a tune. ...
