Photo by Justin Evans Elephant 6-ers Elf Power and fellow Athens, Georgia songwriter Vic Chesnutt will hit the road this fall for a collaborative tour in support of their forthcoming collaborative LP, Dark Developments . Credited to Vic Chesnutt, Elf Power, and the Amorphous Strums, Dark Developments arrives via Orange Twin on October 28. The album now has a tracklist, which can be found below along with its cover art. The tour starts a day later in Oxford, Mississippi. Chesnutt and Elf Power are also working on adding a run of East Coast dates for early next year. Photos by Mike White With preparations for the upcoming "Elephant 6 Holiday Surprise Tour" all in place, the many, many members of the Athens, Georgia-centric collective and their many, many musical guises put on a special show last night at their hometown's intimate Ciné theater. A small crowd of 100 or so was treated to songs from the Olivia Tremor Control, Circulatory System, the Music Tapes, and more, performed by an oft-masked morphing assemblage of E6 all-stars. The crew even turned in a cover of Neutral Milk Hotel's "The Fool" (no Mangum sightings, alas), and took the opportunity to woo the gathered with candy and also screen that wacky-looking Major Organ and the Adding Machine movie . For those of us residing outside Athens, the "Holiday Surprise Tour" fun begins tomorrow (October 9) in Chapel Hill. A "system quarterback" from a program that isn't a traditional Power can win the Heisman Trophy. BYU's Ty Detmer did it in 1990 . But it'll be awfully hard for Texas Tech's Graham Harrell to do it. Harrell will have to put up ridiculous numbers -- even better than last season's 5,705 yards and 48 TDs -- and lead the Red Raiders to at least 11 wins to have a shot. Eric "Elf" Morris and Detron Lewis will need to keep putting up big numbers, or Harrell will split votes with Michael Crabtree. Defending Heisman winner Tim Tebow and '07 finalist Chase Daniel can't be as good as they were last season. One reason that Harrell has a legitimate shot is because the Red Raiders' schedule packs a lot of November drama with a home date with Texas and a road trip to Oklahoma two weeks apart. If Harrell puts up big numbers in both games and the Red Raiders at least split against the Big 12 South bullies, he ought to at least get an invitation to New York. What if the Red Raiders win them both? Harrell would have the stage Big 12 championship game to state his case to the Heisman voters. As intriguing as this combination may seem for hardcore fans of either act, the final sonic results reveal a daunting sum much greater than even the involvement of such esteemed parts would imply. The Elves' lived-in dexterity as a live band goads Vic's vocal delivery to a menacing new muscularity, imbuing this batch of songs with a sinister vibe not dissimilar to John Cale's black classic Fear , the harsh, articulate sleaze of Lou Reed's Street Hassle or the defeated low key soul-music of Nick Lowe's last few records. As useful as these benchmark-records are in identifying Dark Developments ' own unique spirit, this record truly stands on its own as a brilliant statement, a classic addition to Athens' legendary pantheon, and, most importantly, as an organic meeting of two separately-evolved and vital musical entities that never feels forced, flashy or false. Before I start my short review, let me tell you how mmo games came into my life. Neosteam is the first game that I played. I never thought that I would play any mmo games; I focus on pursuing my studies. But last July, oneof my friend mmo game addict, she played a lot of mmo's. She gives me neosteam as the game she played at that moment. So I tried the game... Here is my review: Neosteam is a 3D Sci-Fi MMORPG set in a Steam Punk universe. It consist of 3 nations; republic of Rogwel, Elerd kingdom and Taxzn alliance. Technical force for Rogwel, magical force for elerd and natural force for taxzn.neosteam has 6 races; Elf from elerd, human from rogwel and liel, luife and taroon from Taxzn and 4 classes; fighter for liel, luife,taroon; mage for Elf, pom for craftor and rogue for human. And because I want to experience the magical effect Power, my first character was an Elf. I enjoyed the game, I level up faster and because of curiosity I tried all the races. And I discovered that each race has special skills. There were many ways how to level up faster, through quest, through grinding, through in game events. Talking about the quest, from 1-10 quest it was quiet easy but the rest challenged me a lot. When I reached to level 10, a message appears in the screen that I can change my job to a job changer.
