Wow. Talk about a big day in local hoops recruiting. Chris Braswell and Darnell Dodson have found new homes. Braswell, who played at Suitland and DeMatha and previously committed to Georgetown, yesterday accepted a scholarship offer to play for Charlotte. His other suitors reportedly included Maryland, Virginia Tech and Indiana. Braswell failed to meet the NCAA's academic eligibility standards and is back at Hargrave Military Academy this school year. Dodson, the one-time All-Met at Eleanor Roosevelt who previously committed to Pittsburgh before also failing to qualify, yesterday accepted a scholarship offer from Memphis. He is attending Miami-Dade Community College but not playing basketball, so he will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. Former Pitt player and assistant coach Orlando Antigua is in his first year as a Memphis assistant and helped the Tigers land Dodson. More on both of these later today. ...
