I'm kinda late on posting this, but photos of max in studio with Eisley were uploaded to Eisley's Flickr recently. So it looks like he'll be making an appearance on their next record? Xaver Naudascher , who founded Berlin-based Supersoul Recordings in 2006, compared himself in the liner notes of the electronic label's very first 12" to the resident DJ of an underground dance club in Star Wars ' Mos Eisley. Walter Jones' "The Odyssey Sound (Mogg & Naudascher Edit)", from the new Supersoul compilation Nobody Knows Anything out on DFA 's Death From Abroad imprint, sounds to me more like the kind of music Luke Skywalker might trip out on in hyperspace in between practicing his Jedi skills, but hey, choose your own sci-fi metaphor. The TCPrime server has received a new build that focuses on testing the upcoming Galactic Moon Festival, which launches Oct. 14 as a Halloween celebration. According to the notes, all costumes have a 30-minute timer and cannot be worn while in combat. If your costume is scary enough, you will be able to get some prizes as a result of trick-or-treating. Also, the notes state that veterans of the game who have played SWG for 63 months can choose a mini-replica of either the Yoda Fountain or Emperor's Statue, which will be able to fit inside a home. Of course, the build also includes some fixes, such as fixing an issue that was randomly breaking customization for some objects. For the full notes, check this post or keep reading below. Galactic Moon Festival: Visit the Galactic Moon Festival Organizer, Z'ozpheratu, outside of the Moenia and Mos Eisley starports (waypoints 4790 -4777 and 3523 -4806 respectively). Talk to Z'ozpheratu to obtain a costume to use for trick or treating, purchase special Galactic Moon Festival items, and find out more about the festival. All costumes have a thirty minute timer. One of the most noticeable changes is that most rewards have had a 30% Galactic Moon Festival coin cost reduction. Also, the number of festival celebrants in Moenia and Mos Eisley has increased. My copy of this book is currently on the other side of the continent, and I need to check a fact. In one of the stories (I believe it's the spacer's tale?) the main character was trying to escape something or other and ducked into a building or ship with a bunch of balconies or windows that a group of monks used to preach at people on the street walking by. What's the name of the place? Is it a building or a ship? I'm writing a piece of fanfic where it would be handy to be able to reference that. Any help would be appreciated. ETA: Found! Last we left the Dream Car 123, the pyramid-shaped electric car that always gets picked last in kickball games, it was (in the words of Addy) "pootling" along the snowy streets of Illinois at about 45 mph, with a 80-mile range. Today we can report that, while the thing still looks like all sorts of ridiculousness, it's upped the range considerably, has bullet proof glass protecting the driver's compartment—and cut costs to boot! The old specs and pricing for the ironically named Dream Car were about $60,000 in supplies, and that not-so-good 80-mile range mentioned above. Today, the numbers have increased remarkably, with the Dream Car now costing about $8,000 in materials and a mass production model checking in somewhere between $16,000 and $24,000 (depending on government alternative fuel incentives). A single 3.5 hour charge give the car a 240 mile-range for about $5 in electricity costs. This Star Wars Landspeeder is a full-sized, drivable, Jedi-approved replica built by Daniel Deutsch , who designed his version from the ground up. Neatorama dug up this 1:1 scale speeder, which has a custom aluminum chassis, fiberglass body, and an electric drive system that hits lightspeed at 25 mph (UPDATED: with gallery). The art detail is also pretty amazing (and reeks of authenticity), with body work and fake damage consistent with the landspeeder in the film. And it shouldn't be huge shock that Deutsch has no intention of selling his magnum opus. But when I see this thing, I have delusions of rounding up Han, Obi-Wan, Lando and a whole lotta Colt 45, cruising past the Cantina, and looking for chicks with tentacles on their heads.
