Google Chrome is the Web giants take on Web browser software. It is designed to work invisibly and will run any application that runs on Apples Safari Web browser. Google rolled out a beta last week and testing is on. Chrome is Googles long-anticipated head-on attack on Microsofts Internet Explorer. But many industry insiders say it is actually an attack on Microsofts Windows OS; Fresh off their online Olympics success, NBC, is headed into football season with Web viewers in mind. NBCs primetime Sunday Night Football will stream live on the web over Adobe Flash. The first game was actually Thursday night, for NBCs coverage of the NFL season opener.
