I seem angrier, grouchier and more pissed off the last few days. I guess the periods of gout I suffer is my version of PMS; only it occurs much less often and there's no bloody mess to clean up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I did some pre-ordering today. I have reserved Dead Space, LittleBigPlanet, Fallout 3 and Resistance 2. The guy at EB, Devon, is very high on Dead Space and thinks those who still hate EA will actually start praising them for this brand new franchise. I didn't pre-order the NBA game as those should be plentiful here in the so-called HockeyTown Canada. After those 5, I plan to buy the other October and November Games that I would buy after the Day One must haves are out of the way. The last game will probably be Guitar Hero 4: World Tour. Beyond Good & Evil was great, yet largely ignored. There's a sequel coming, but since the first one was - yes - largely ignored, Ubisoft might have an uphill struggle on their hands convincing millions of people that this game is a good idea. So this strategy, while still unconfirmed, certainly makes a lot of sense. A Canadian GAF poster spotted this ad at his local EB Games, advertising a BG&E Greatest Hits reprint for $10. With a release date of September. Like we said, it makes sense, but we're still slightly sceptical; we're already halfway through September and this is the first we hear of it? Someone forgot to tell the East Bridgewater and Hanover field hockey teams that they were supposed to play a low-scoring game on Monday. East Bridgewater (6-1-3) came into the game with seven shutouts — three straight — and had let up only two goals. Hanover (7-1-2) had seven shutouts in its first nine Games. In a tale of two halves, East Bridgewater dominated the first half and built a 3-0 lead, only to have Hanover come back with three goals of its own in the second half as the two teams settled for a 3-3 tie. “Who can figure it out?” said Hanover coach Judy Schneider. “I guess it depends of the day. According to an "upcoming releases" ad from EB Games and GameStop, Ubisoft will be re-releasing a $10 budget version for PlayStation 2 of Michel Ancel's critically lauded Beyond Good & Evil . The ad, found in a binder listing new and upcoming releases, also mentions that the reprint will be out in September. Sounds like a good way for Ubisoft to start hyping up the sequel -- announced at a company media event earlier this year -- by giving gamers who missed out on the 2003 original a chance to play it on the cheap. At this point, you can still pre-order, but you'll have to drop in at one of their locations, because according to their website, they are "currently not available online." Being Canadian, I'm an awfully sad panda right now. I could not decide if I wanted to pay the extra $20, plus customs, and have to wait an extra week at least in order to get my hands on one, and now I'm regretting not putting in the order. At least it would have been a back-up I could have canceled later! I stopped into my local EB Games last night and was told that they do not know if, when, or how many copies they'll be getting.
