Jimmy sez, "Michael Goldfarb of the John McCain campaign oddly disses gamers in his post yesterday on the John McCain blog." It may be typical of the pro-Obama Dungeons & Dragons crowd to disparage a fellow countryman's memory of war from the comfort of mom's basement, but most Americans have the humility and gratitude to respect and learn from the memories of men who suffered on behalf of others. Smears the Left Can Fight For (Thanks, Jimmy!)... ...

(1 vote - 0 comments - 28 views) Yeah, the stereotypes and the acting are a little overdone, but that makes it even funnier to me. Besides, this is a live performance, so they have to ham it up a little more so the audience can hear them better. And I used to play D&D, so shut up! ...

Kate said the DX10 offers "truer light absorption" in the environment, but not being a real techy to decipher that for you, I can explain it much more simply. The shadows, light, and environment you'll encounter fit so perfectly into the world that it's a visually stunning presentation second to none. View in full... ...

If you've played a fantasy-themed role-playing game (RPG) chances are it owes something to Dungeons & Dragons – the dice-rolling pen-and-paper game that started it all. Dungeons & Dragons Tiny Adventures , an officially-licensed product from Wizards of the Coast, brings the Dungeons & Dragons experience to Facebook. read more ...

by: Eva Sines NEWS - Wizards of the Coast has unleashed its new Dungeons & Dragons: Tiny Adventures application on an unsuspecting Facebook community today. This strangely addictive little app. has overburdened servers with members waiting anxiously for their next adventure to begin. You start by selecting one of several character templates. I chose the Elf Ranger by a narrow margin over the Tiefling Warlock. After naming her, I sent her into the nearest swamp to gain some experience which hopefully comes with gold and loot. Part of the draw to Tiny Adventures is winning or purchasing new potions, weapons and armor to trick out you character with. Each step of an adventure comes with a blow by blow commentary that will appeal to anyone whose sense of humor is a bit on the dark side and pop culture references. WotC has discovered a very simple, ingenious way to introduce a lot of new people to D&D 4.0. The cooperative team building nature of the new Pen and Paper rules are mirrored in Tiny Adventures which allows players to heal or buff their friends. The game is addictive and will have you leaving your Facebook open so you count the minutes until you can continue your adventures. To get in on the game, check out the latest WotC Digital Insider or look up the Dungeons & Dragons: Tiny Adventures application on Facebook. Comment ...

Dungeons & Dragons-mongers Wizards of the Coast have come up with an uber-casual version of the venerable role playing game that just might make it worthwhile signing up for privacy-siphoning office time-sink that is Facebook. Dungeons & Dragons: Tiny Adventures is a Facebook app that lets you create a character, equip them with potions and weapons and them set them off on a (hey!) Tiny Adventure. Your character will send you regular updates from your chosen quest, and because FB is a Social Networking site you can ask your friends to buff them up by throwing potions and other kit your way. Success in the various game events is determined by dice rolls modified by your initial choices. The game server is down at the moment due to heavy demand, but should soon rise again, stronger and more powerful than ever. D&D Tiny Adventures [Facebook via Tor ] ...

It’s rare that real-world politics makes a connection with fantasy roleplaying games, but earlier this month John McCain’s writer Michael Goldfarb mentioned the game derisively in his blog : “It may be typical of the pro-Obama Dungeons & Dragons crowd to disparage a fellow countryman’s memory of war from the comfort of mom’s basement, but most Americans have the humility and gratitude to respect and learn from the memories of men who suffered on behalf of others.” Naturally, this didn’t go down too well with the D&D crowd. Yesterday, Wizards of the Coast senior vice president Wayne Charness wrote a letter in reply : “For fans, the game is essentially about heroism and therefore it is not surprising to us that thousands of military personnel play and enjoy the game. … Recently a soldier who saw your comments online said, “Wizards of the Coast (the makers of D&D) has sent care packages to the troops on many occasions, providing free gaming supplies in support of our men and women serving the country overseas to help them decompress after hours. McCain’s people should really check their facts before they spout off. Does John McCain have no idea how many GIs play D&D?”” Soon after posting his original comment, Goldfarb responded to criticisms with this snazzy quote : “If my comments caused any harm or hurt to the hard working Americans who play Dungeons & Dragons, I apologize. This campaign is committed to increasing the strength, constitu ...

Evidently the fine people at Wizards of the Coast (WotC) saw fit to create a Dungeons & Dragons Facebook application called D&D Tiny Adventures (not to be confused with Tiny TOON Adventures). In this app, you can select from a significantly narrow list of adventurers and begin your own solo campaign, where all of the [...] ...

Publisher : Stainless Steel Dragon   Game systems come, and game systems go. But the "AGE OF VOLONDOR," is eternal! AGE OF VOLONDOR: Dungeons is perhaps the world largest dungeon crawl map set. 60 (8x11 inch) floor plans providing thousands of encounter areas. Just add monsters and treasure from whatever game system you're currently using.    Dungeons is an EXTREME value pack, a compilation of three previously released Stainless Steel Dragons Map Sets. The Caves & Caverns Map Set, The Labyrinths and Lairs Map Set, and the Mazes & Catacombs Map Set. Normally a $14.85 eBook value, now only $9.95!    These are not randomly generated Dungeons, they are intelligently designed by an veteran Game Master (DM for over 25 years.) to be used as serious Dungeons for experienced adventurers. Many of these maps feature extraordinary details. Caves and Caverns offers mostly natural Dungeons, with perhaps crude creature made embellishments. (Like rope bridges, rough steps, crude statues, simple furniture and fur rugs on floors.) Labyrinths and Lairs offers more complex Dungeons with dwellings suitable for habitation by various creatures as their individual names might suggest. (This set includes a few underground cities, and many maps with details like traps, furniture, bathrooms, stoves, statues and treasure chambers.) Mazes & Catacombs offers some extremely complex Dungeons that include things like rotating rooms, teleportals, secret doors, and an ...
