A second, extensive mental evaluation of killer Joseph Duncan by federal Bureau of Prisons evaluator Dr. Cynthia Low has been filed under seal in federal court in Boise. U.S. District Judge Edward Lodge today ordered the filing of the sealed report, and granted only a small portion of a motion from defense attorneys to redact certain items in the report because they related to confidential matters between the attorneys and their client, that the attorneys revealed to the federal evaluator. Seeing as I work nights at the the hospital, I usually catch the interviews on the early morning shows, and then the ones sometimes after the games with Mike shannon half drunk at his restaurant talking about the good old times.  Anyways I just wanted to share some stuff I have heard in the past 24 hours.  With that being said it is 4:50 in the morning central time. Interview with Dave Duncan on the morning grind. The interview at first seemed like dave was just going to have a normal mundane response to questions but he perked up quickly once Carpenter came too topic.  Jimmy "the Cat" Hayes asked him whom he though he would see first, Carp or Wagonmaker?  His response was Carp.  When Jim pushed further and asked if it would be 3 rehab outings dave responded with "If that", basically implying that after a rehab outing on friday he thinks Carp has a very good shot at rejoining the team.  After Dave hung up all the guys were in agreeement that Dave thinks Carp will be here soon. The other intresting thing was that he supported the idea of bullpen help.  At first he started talking about how his bullpen has also helped win alot of games and people don't seem to talk about that but when asked if a arm would be welcomed he responded with a round about yes. The St. Louis Cardinals placed Chris Duncan on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a bulging disc in his neck. It’s the latest setback for a player who totaled 43 homers his first two major league seasons but has just six this year. Duncan, batting .248 with 27 RBIs in part-time duty, said the neck has been bothering him for a while but had been tolerable until after Monday night’s game when he couldn’t sleep and then woke up with stiffness. He also reported shooting pain down his right arm. The news was more positive for right-hander Adam Wainwright, who threw his first bullpen session since going on the DL on June 8 with a ruptured tendon in the middle finger of his pitching hand. Wainwright threw 40 pitches at 70-75 percent effort, is scheduled for at least two more bullpen sessions on Thursday and Saturday, and could be back in the rotation in two weeks or so. “It’s a big step for me, really testing it on the mound,” Wainwright said. “It’s pretty exciting, actually.” The Cardinals are hopeful both Wainwright, the opening day starter this year, and Chris Carpenter, the 2005 NL Cy Young winner who threw four innings for Double-A Springfield in his first rehab start on Sunday, will both be in the rotation by early August. Wainwright said he thought Carpenter, who had reconstructive elbow surgery last July, would be the first to return.
