Here are the details on the lost night, and what it means for tomorrow. * We'll have a Doubleheader with the first game beginning at 3:05 p.m. The second game will start approximately 25 minutes after the end of the first one. * The starters: Game 1: Jason Bergmann (1-8, 4.33) vs. Jeff Francis (3-7, 5.67) Game 2: Odalis Perez (4-8, 4.16) vs. Ubaldo Jimenez (8-9, 3.61) Bergmann was slated all along to pitch the Thursday afternoon game, so that doesn't change. Perez, after the rainout, was given the choice of whether he wanted the afternoon or evening start; he picked the latter. Manager Manny Acta said that he's not yet certain if the team will need to use a spot starter somewhere later this week (probably Monday) to prevent Perez from going on three days' rest. Tuscarawas County split a pair of wild games with Strongsville in American Legion baseball action Friday night at Tuscora Park. The Panthers (22-20) dropped the first game 6-5 despite a three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh. In the second game, they scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and four in the seventh to earn a 10-9 win. In the second game, the Panthers trailed 9-6. Brian Gasser smacked a two-run single to make it 9-8 and on a fielder’s choice hit by Brandon Beitzel, the tying run came across in Trenton Bird. The winning run in Hunter Conkle scored when a throwing error on Beitzel’s hit occurred. Bird got the win by going the final 4 1/3 innings. Gasser had a double, single and three RBIs while Conkle had two hits. In the first game, Alex Praznik had three hits and Jeremy Spore a double and single for Tuscarawas County. Connor Denning homered for Strongsville. Coshocton 13, Perry 1 In a five-inning mercy win, Coshocton pounded out 11 hits to beat Perry. The Redskins are now just one game below .500 at 17-18. Robbie Nay went 3-for-3 at the plate with three runs and two RBIs while Cameron Wolf had two hits with three RBIs. Tuscarawas County took its record from .500 to 20-18 after a sweep of visiting Cambridge on Friday night in American Legion baseball action at Tuscora Park. The Panthers were 18-18 after a five-day break following their own Roth/Gardner Memorial Tournament. After a 7-3 win in the first game and 8-2 victory in the second, it appears the rest was necessary. In the first game, Ian Drapcho went the final four innings in relief of starter Zac Schweitzer to earn the win. He struck out four and walked one. Held to three hits by losing pitcher Tim Harvey, Brandon Beitzel led the Panthers with a double, single and two RBIs. Ben Geyer and Seth Jones doubled for Cambridge. In the second game, Hunter Conkle went the distance for the win. He struck out five, walked two and gave up nine hits. He was backed offensively by 10 hits from his teammates as Alex Praznik and Beitzel each had two hits. Charlie Karling and Cody Nelson had two hits each for Cambridge. Richmond 11, Coshocton 5 Colt Newell smacked a homer and a double with three RBIs to lead Richmond past visiting Coshocton.
