I have learned from sources that Boeing and the union are meeting secretly at a hotel near Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Below is the story. BY James Wallace P-I aerospace reporter With a 48-hour deadline approaching, representatives of The Boeing Co. and its largest union are hunkered down in a hotel at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., trying to reach an agreement that would prevent a strike. Sources said that both sides flew to Orlando early Thursday to continue talks with a federal mediator. Neither the union nor the company would disclose the location of the talks, but the Seattle P-I confirmed they are taking place at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. The hotel was selected because it is the location of the grand lodge convention later this week of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Union and company representatives involved in the contract talks are all registered at the hotel. The two sides agreed to meet after a dramatic showdown Wednesday night at the union's district headquarters near Boeing Field that saw the union's leaders cursed and shouted down when they announced an agreement to keep talking with the company for 48 more hours, even though the union's membership had voted overwhelmingly to strike. Those taking part in the 11th-hour talks include Tom Buffenbarger, international president of the Machinists union. Also there for the union are Mark Blondin, aerospace coordinator a ... I'm desperately searching for the opening credits in the early 70's for the Wonderful World Of Disney. It was on every Sunday night, and in the credits, was a pan of a crowd at Disneyland. My Dad (now deceased) was wearing a pr. of Mickey Mouse ears, with my niece on his shoulders. It'd mean the World to me if I could find that clip. If anyone can help, it'd be so greatly appreciated!! Hello - I know I should post this in the Disney World section, (I think I will post it there as well) but since my frame of reference is almost purely DisneyLAND, I thought I would seek information from like-minded people. Our family has been to Disneyland almost once a year since my kids were born. This year my son will be graduating from high school, and we have decided to take a trip to Disney World during Spring Break March 29-April 5). As I am trying to plan this trip, I am OVERWHELMED by the planning - where to stay, which plan to go with, how much time to spend, etc. We did take a quick trip to DisneyWorld with one of the kids a couple of years ago when my husband was there for a conference, but our hotel was already predetermined (and paid for) and I only had one kid with me. So for those WEST coast Disney fanatics like me, who feel so at home in our wonderful little Disneyland/DCA, if any of you have ventured to Disney World, what advice do you have to offer? The guests will be myself, my husband, and two teenage boys (ages 18 and 16). Here are my thoughts so far: * Hotel - as Disneyland we usually stay on site or at HoJo's. I know that lodging is more expensive at Disney World, so my options are: 1) nurses' rates at Swan or Dolphin (not Disney officially but located centrally) probably about $209/night 2) go cheaper and get two rooms or a suite at a value hotel 3) or get one room with two doubles at a moderate hotel * Ti ... I am so familiar and comfortable with Disneyland and California Adventure, and thinking about DisneyWorld is overwhelming. The guests will be myself, my husband, and two teenage boys (ages 18 and 16). Here are my thoughts so far: * Hotel - at Disneyland we usually stay on site or at Howard Johnson's, right across the street. We usually don't spend more than $150/night. I know that lodging is more expensive at Disney World, so my options are: 1) nurses' rates at Swan or Dolphin (not Disney officially but located centrally) probably about $209/night 2) go cheaper and get two rooms or a suite at a value hotel 3) or get one room with two doubles at a moderate hotel * Tickets - I am thinking we will be there 5 days/6 nights or 6 days/7 nights (coming from Portland Or I am not counting our arrival and departure days because we are flying across the coun ...
