Travis Diener Blogs About Pending Challenges Travis Diener has had a wild offseason, seeing the competition for minutes at point guard stiffen significantly while being left on the sidelines to rehab and recover from surgery to remove bone spurs from his left big toe. Being the solid locker room character that he is, Travis has nothing but praise for the roster moves while accepting the challenge to compete for playing time. If his minutes shrink as expected, at least we can count on Travis to play a positive role with his attitude and effort in the locker room or on the practice court. MDJ was evaluated for developmental toxicity in presumed pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats (25/group) at oral dosages of 0, 40, 80 or 120 mg/kg/day in corn oil administered on gestational days 7-20. Dams were observed for viability, clinical signs, body weights, and feed consumption. Caesarean-sectioning and necropsy occurred on gestational day 21. Fetuses were weighed and examined for gender, gross external changes, and soft tissue or skeletal alterations. No maternal or fetal deaths occurred. MDJ-related maternal clinical signs included an increased incidence of sparse hair coat and ungroomed appearance at 120 mg/kg/day. Two dams in this group also had tan areas in the liver and a pale spleen. The 120 mg/kg/day dosage also caused reduced mean maternal body weight gains and body weights during the dosage period and reduced absolute and relative maternal feed consumption for the entire dosage period. OBJECTIVE: To determine the association between MRSA respiratory infection and FEV1 decline in children and adults with CF. METHODS: Ten-year cohort study using the CF Foundation patient registry from 1996-2005. We studied individuals who developed new MRSA respiratory tract infection. Repeated measures regression was used to assess the association between MRSA and FEV1 decline, adjusted for confounders, in individuals aged 8-21 and adults (aged 22-45). Two different statistical models were used to assess robustness of results. MEASUREMENTS AND MAIN RESULTS: The study cohort included 17,357 patients with an average follow-up of 5.3 years.
