I was wondering if anyone could give me their thoughts on ths situation. I have a Flight on Delta tomorrow scheduled to go to New Orleans. Delta still has not canceled the Flight. They have only offerd to let me reschedule but I can not travel within their restriction of leaving by the 8th. So my only recourse is to wait for them to cancel the Flight. I called them several times. This morning they tried lying to me by saying the hurricane wasn't even a hurricane anymore and that MSY had reopened. Regardless they will not do anything untl they cancel the Flight. Has anyone else run into a situation like this? ... Source: blog.delta.com --- 20 days ago

The death of a dog named Machine on a Delta Air Lines Flight prompted an investigation, followed by reinforcement of the airline's animal transport policies. Had a Flight to Budapest booked for December 26th, Delta apparently isn't running my Flight on December 26th, they've moved me to JFK-BUD on December 25th. I'm not intending to travel on Christmas Day due to family obligations. I know I have to call SMS anyway on this one, but before I do, any thoughts as to whether I can get a refund on a "non refundable" ticket considering the change is a full day? Budapest was just a mileage run/vacation trip, there are several other European cities that would serve the same purposes. Any thoughts on what options Delta might give me, or am I stuck with a ticket I can't use? ... Source: www.ajc.com --- 18 days ago

The National Mediation Board says that Delta Air Lines didn't interfere with the Association of Flight Attendants' campaign to unionize Delta's Flight attendants. Or more particularly, the NMB said the AFA didn't establish its case that Delta unlawfully interfered. The ruling was sent to the parties on Tuesday. Delta responded Wednesday, via senior vice president of in-Flight service Joanne Smith: Delta has always believed that the AFA's allegations of interference were unfounded. Armed with the facts and the understanding that this decision had a significant impact on their careers, our Flight attendants spoke decisively about their preference for maintaining Delta's unique culture. We are pleased that the NMB has upheld our Flight attendants' decision. It's time now to turn our attention to the exciting opportunity ahead of us - creating a premier global airline that will allow our people to share in the airline's success and provide a legendary travel experience for our customers. On Thursday, the AFL-CIO responded, via Edward Wytkind, president of the Transportation Trades Department: It is a dark day when our government walks away from its duty to protect working people from illegal corporate conduct. That is exactly what happened on the evening of September 30 when Bush appointees to the National Mediation Board (NMB) blessed Delta Air Line's deliberate campaign - in violation of U.S. labor law - to block unionization by its fli ... ATLANTA, Oct. 1, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) has been notified by the National Mediation Board (NMB) that its Flight attendants' decision to reject union representation will be upheld. The Board dismissed the Association of Flight Attendants' allegations of interference in the May 2008 representation election at Delta, stating that the union's claims either "are unsubstantiated...", "do not rise to the level of interference under clear, longstanding Board precedent", or "constitute isolated incidents...that do not amount to the kind of systematic, pervasive conduct that would have tainted laboratory conditions." ...
