MIAMI Right-hander Adam Eaton has been moved to the Phillies bullpen to make room in the rotation for newly acquired right-hander Joe Blanton. Eaton has made two career relief appearances, both in 2005 with San Diego. I'd like to be a starter, don't get me wrong, but anything to help the team, Eaton said. I'm on one of the best teams in the big leagues. But we're going to win this thing ... BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Lito Sheppard's new agent, Drew Rosenhaus, prowled through the crowd at Lehigh University on Saturday. Regardless of what he came to Eagles training camp to do, he watched his client's situation change right in front of him. Even before the highly anticipated full-contact drills commenced, All-Pro cornerback Asante Samuel had limped off the field. The player the Eagles signed ... I have been in Berlin for two weeks and as far as I can see, the closest gunfight near me happened South Ossetia. But everyday I look at my home paper's website www.Delawareonline.com and see reports of another person shot in the streets. In Philadelphia it's no better and in Camden, N.J. a four-year-old boy was recently gunned down while playing outside. I am nowhere near as poetic as Margin Gaye but it makes me wanna holler. Although there is crime in Berlin, I find it weird that I had to go thousands of miles away from home to feel so safe. I walk the streets, or ride my bike, at 3 a.m. here. I am not bragging, but it feels good to be able to do that. It feels good to be able to not have to constantly watch over my back because I don't know when a masked gunman will spring from a car and tell me to empty my pockets. First things first, I hope I am not jinxing myself and won't have to write my next blog about how someone popped a cap in me while enjoying all my late night/early morning freedoms. Something is wrong with this picture. My editor at the publication where I am working, www.spiegel.de , told me that in Berlin, a city with almost 3.5 million people, there were something like 17 homicides in 2007 and a majority of those were domestic disputes. So while married couples can't live with each other over here apparently everyday citizens can. I think I have become fascinated with this sense of security over here and saddene ... I am writing this OpEd in response to the Wilmington (Delaware) News Journal July 2nd editorial titled "How Eminent Domain Finally Went Down" http://www.Delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080702/OPINION05/807020328/1004/OPINION by Ron Williams. While I often disagree with the opinion columns of Mr. Williams, I usually find his writings well-researched, factually sound and thought provoking. Unfortunately, this is not true in this case. The Williams editorial demonstrated a vehement anti-labor union bias. It was excessively personal in the tone and content. It disrespected the State Senate and contained factual errors. It contributed almost nothing toward informing the public concerning the many different policy considerat... more ...

With mixed martial arts continuing to gain mainstream popularity, local boxing promoter Keith Stoffer said he wouldn't mind if MMA disappeared.
