About the Hell in DIABLO I. New page Character: I must be getting close! Hell is the final set of levels on DIABLO I, consisting of levels 13-16. In it looks more depressing and horrific than the other levels. There are corpses impaled through stakes, hanging on walls, and walls with their interiors made of pulsating blood. Staircases appear like huge halves of ribcages. In the book Binding of the Three, Hell is described as actually an "ancient, forgotten cathedral." Therefore, this place of torment used to be a place of worship. Shrines appear as Cauldrons that give random spells or other enchantments like the Goat Shrines did. Just like how every first level of a level set has a staircase up to town, so does Hell, and the entrance outside is a blood-red crevasse in the earth, behind Pepin's clinic. Mousing over it says "DOWN TO HELL." You will find Lachdanan on level 14, and his Golden Elixir on level 15. Before you get to level 16, you have to defeat Lazarus after the end of level 15. The entrance to level 16 says "DOWN TO DIABLO" and is a circled star with a hole in the center; it appears nothing like the other ribcage staircases. Upon entering Level 16, you will see a shadow of DIABLO over the pentagram on the level loading screen. ... Source: diablo.wikia.com --- 17 hours ago

not "unique" ←Older revision Revision as of 11:51, 25 November 2008 Line 1: Line 1: - This final quest in DIABLO involves the Dark Lord of Terror himself. This quest is initiated by Deckard Cain anytime after killing Archbishop Lazarus. The pentagram symbol on the fifteenth level of the dungeon turns into a portal to the sixteenth level, the lair of DIABLO himself. It is filled with Advocates and Blood Knights, including the unique knight Sir Gorash. There are four corner rooms, only one of which is accessible at first. Pulling the skull lever in that room opens the second, and pulling the lever in the second room opens the third. The third room has two skull levers and both must be pulled to open the fourth and final room. In this room, there is a pentagram on the floor, and it is heavily guarded. A row of Blood Knights forms the outer defense with Advocates behind them. In the very center of the room is an enemy denoted as "The Dark Lord", which is DIABLO himself. He uses the mighty Apocalypse spell, and cannot be Stone Cursed. Defeating him completes the quest, and the game ends in victory. + This final quest in DIABLO involves the Dark Lord of Terror himself. Hey all, I'm still in mid exams (finish on Monday) so that's why there's been a lack of news posting on the D3 front. Here is a quick post, as I thought many would find the discussion of skills very interesting. After Blizzcon many were led to believe that Active skills would be one point wonders (as they max at one point) with the main differences in skills coming from the passive upgrades. Diii.net conducted a short Q&A session with D3 community manager Bashiok just about this topic. Flux: A question about the skill points in D3. Active skills only took one point at Blizzcon, after the gameplay movie from WWI showed multiple ranks in active skills. Will they allow more points in the final game? Bashiok: It was the BlizzCon build. Jay said a few times in interviews and I think even on stage that people like the feeling of pumping points in to their main skills so thats likely to be something well do. Overall the skill trees seen in the demo were just giving a glimpse of the kind of direction were looking to go. The ranks from the WWI were part of an older system. The skill trees and UI in general are changing on an almost weekly basis. Not like total rewrites, but theyre not final is what Im getting at. Bashiok then talks about the interface which a number of people have complained about as well as the lack of unveiling of many Witch Doctor skills. Bashiok: Oh yeah, its expected. Unless youre involved VERY heavily in games, or actual ... Source: hellforge.gameriot.com --- 11 days ago
The latest MTV multiplayer blog interviewed Mike Morhaime, the Blizzard CEO, at the Wraith of the Lich King launch. One of the topics talked about was expansion pack models as well as how often sequels are released, specifically in regards to Activision games. MTV Multiplayer: Activision has had success with franchises like Call of Duty and Guitar Hero by releasing games annually. Do you look at that business model at all and wonder if that would work for Blizzard? Do you think theres more profit in hitting the annual mark? Or do you think players need the breathing room? Morhaime: In terms of expansions, I think a little bit more frequently is probably good with sort of the goal to get closer to an annual expansion. But I think it really depends on what content you put in the expansion. I dont think Blizzard will ever be able to do sequels of products like a DIABLO III or DIABLO IV on an annual basis, but we might be able to do expansions to those games close to annually. Hmmm, is there more profit? In an ideal scenario, I think wed probably do [expansions] a little bit more often than weve been able to do. But I agree I think putting too many expansions out too frequently, you probably get to the point where people do need to start taking a little break. Hopefully this means that we'll see much more polished games with a lot of additional content being added regularly, so the game never gets too boring. ... Sorry for the late post, but the new BlizzCast got released today and it features an interview conducted by Bashiok, with DIABLO 3's Senior Character Artist, Anthony Rivero . A bulk of the interview is about how Anthony got the job and the sort of work he did before. He then talks about his specific work on DIABLO 2 (which he also worked on before DIABLO 3), specifically talking about his design of Mephisto . Next Anthony worked on the Druid, for the DIABLO 2 expansion pack. Next he mentions how the standards in Art design have changed from 2D to 3D work, and the difficulties of working with both. Next they talk more about DIABLO 3, and Anthony mentions that he worked a lot on the Witch Doctor armours . They then go on to reveal a new monster, called the Malformed, for which some Concept Art is provided. It's a good interview, with a cool piece of concept art revealed, so it's worth checking out.
