38-year-old actor Corey Feldman had an interview on Larry King Live Wednesday night to discuss the life and death of Corey Haim, his 38-year-old best friend, earlier that day. He expressed in the interview how frustrated he is that people are saying he overdosed on drugs. Feldman said that everyone needs to stop springing to conclusions, speculating that Haim overdosed and creating their own theories about his death. The cause of death, he added, won’t be official until the report comes back from the coroner, along with the toxicology test results and evidence to prove the cause. At about 2:15am (PT) on Wednesday, Haim was pronounced dead at the hospital. He had been taking over-the-counter and prescription medications for flu-like symptoms he had been having two days before his death. He was also taking prescriptions for a sobriety program he was involved in. Although officials didn’t find illicit drugs in his apartment, it’s still likely that he died from an unintentional overdose caused by all the medication he was taking. Feldman also told King that he was shocked to hear his best friend died, as he just talk to him 3 or 4 days ago. He said that Haim was giving him advice about something that had upset him and was being positive about it. In a statement, Feldman said that the Lost Boys actor was a "tortured soul" and mourned the loss of his friend, who he said had been like a brother to him. Later, he appeared on the Larry King Live show and asked for people to stop insinuating that Haim's death was due to drugs.The full statement read: "I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school. "This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family, and best friend. "We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference. "Please respect our families as we struggle and grieve through this difficult time. I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived." A post mortem is believed to be taking place to determine the cause of death, although it's claimed that no illegal drugs were found at Haim's mother's house, where he died.
