One of the Sundance titles that's been gathering a lot of buzz is " HIGH School ." As you might have deduced from the title's formatting, it is best described as a stoner comedy. The story follows a promising young student and potential MIT scholarship recipient who experiments with marijuana for the first time... the day before a school-wide drug testing program is instituted. In order to save his future, the enterprising lad comes up with a plan to drug the entire school with pot brownies sold at a bake sale. Stars Michael Chiklis and Colin Hanks , who play the school principal and vice principal, respectively, stopped by to chat during their Sundance meanderings. MTV's Eric Ditzian just had to ask the two about past fictional school authority figures and what their own performances bring to this rich lexicon. "The pantheon of big screen principals?" Chiklis asked with a laugh. "I think you're going straight to the top on this one, I'm going to be quite honest with you," Hanks replied. The two then proceeded to run through a laundry list of character traits that set the "HIGH School" principal apart from his predecessors. "Dementia...," Chiklis volunteered. "Dementia's a good one," Hanks replied, playing off of his co-stars response before adding, "fantastic hair. Fan tastic hair." That got a laugh from the bald "Shield" star. "Yes," he agreed. LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Colin Hanks will join Bradley Whitford in "Jack and Dan," an action comedy slated to premiere on Fox next year. Hanks plays Jack, an ambitious, by-the-book detective whose habit of undermining himself has resulted in a dead-end position at the Los Angeles Police Department . Worse, he has been partnered with Dan (Whitford), a drunken, lecherous, wild-card cop who hangs onto his job only because of a heroic act years before. The show will have a similar tone to series creator Matt Nix's USA Network show " Burn Notice ." I first met Colin Hanks several years ago on Main Street - the same year he was in a film with his dad. While I was excited to get a picture with him, I remember him being in a bit of a hurry ( even though he was only standing on the street talking to someone ) and said we could take it if it was quick. This year we saw him on Main Street again and, in true Colin-like fashion, he said we could get a picture if we hurried. Now, granted, we're used to this and can take a picture in a .2 seconds flat, but I think it's funny when someone is always "busy." Our friend Adam calls celebs out on that. If they tell him they're in a hurry, he'll say, "Really? Where are you going? Don't you appreciate your fans?" Basically he guilts them into pictures. It's awesome. :) ...
