Communities in Schools of Brunswick County received a $43,750 from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services for After School Programs and Services for At-Risk Children at Virginia Williamson Elementary. The project, in partnership with Brunswick County Schools, will provide tuition-free scholarships, certified tutors, tutorial materials, parent/child advocacy, and student transportation home during after school hours for 35 identified students, as well as enrichment activities that will complement the academics and provide the building of developmental assets for participating students.
