I hate to be an ass, but I thought this was rather humorous. Is it just me or does he totally get owned by Brian McKnight at his own performance? Kim Jo Han is a Korean R&B pop singer and in this clip he’s performing Brian McKnight’s “One Last Cry”. It’s about 5:40 of your life, [...] ...

For all the R&B lovers. This is the Brian McKnight’s tenth album- Ten, released late 2006. Too slept on. It’s a real shame that we don’t acknowledge this R&B crooner anymore. He probably has one of the best male R&B vocals as compared to people like Chris Brown and Ne-Yo, who are getting credits for [...] ...

Very relaxing and soulful. * Thinking back when we first met I remember what you said You said you’d never leave me I let go of your hand Built my castle in the sand But now I’m reachin’ out again And I’m not letting go Till you Hold me Mold me Sometimes I feel so [...] ...

The newlyweds shared a laugh during the ceremony. (Photo courtesy of Michael Rozman) Here's a sneak peek at Ray Allen's weekend wedding, courtesy of the Globe's Mark Shanahan. The note will appear in the Names column in tomorrow's Globe: Ray Allen and longtime girlfriend Shannon Walker Williams finally made it official, tying the knot in an intimate ceremony on Martha's Vineyard over the weekend. Guests at the wedding, which was held under sunny skies at a private home in Oak Bluffs, included the couple's three children Tierra, Ray III, and Walker, fellow UConn alums Scott Burrell and 76er Kevin Ollie, Celts CEO Wyc Grousbeck and wife Corinne, and, of course, the NBA Championship trophy. Allen's friend Brian McKnight sang "Never Felt This Way" as the basketball star and his bride made their entrance. Later, McKnight wowed the crowd with renditions of his hits "Crazy Love" and "Back at One." Williams, a onetime actress who appeared in "Girlfight" and "Century City," wore gown by Melissa Sweet. The 60 or so guests were well fed by chef Ben deForest, whose restaurant Balance catered the affair. Click here for a few more photos of the event. ...

It takes at least half a dozen soulful songbirds to pay tribute to Patti LaBelle. Anita Baker, Joss Stone, Jennifer Hudson, Dionne Warwick, Yolanda Adams and Fantasia are among the performers set to help honor LaBelle at the United Negro College Fund's "An Evening of Stars." Brian McKnight and Wayne Brady are also slated to perform at the event, organizers announced Friday. LaBelle, 64, will be recognized for her career achievements and longtime support of the educational organization. Previous UNCF honorees include Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones and Lou Rawls. The event, set for Sept. 13 at the Kodak Theater, is open to the public. ...

2008 ANALYSIS: OFFENSE: The Colorado offense was a middle-of-the-road unit last season, averaging 27.3 points and nearly 380 yards per game. The team should be in better shape this fall as sophomore QB Cody Hawkins, the coach's son, is back after throwing for more than 3,000 yards and 19 TDs as a freshman. Hawkins doesn't have ideal size (5-11, 190), but he is an accurate passer and his decision making should improve after tossing 15 INTs last year. Senior Patrick Williams and sophomore Scotty McKnight will give Hawkins options down the field, while Darrell Scott arrives in Boulder as the nation's top RB prospect and will complement the efforts of Demetrius Sumler and Brian Lockridge. Coach Hawkins is certainly happy to have Scott on board, but getting him acclimated to college life first and foremost is job one. "My biggest talkings and dealings with Darrell have more to do with understanding a quality balance if life and what it takes to be successful. And he's a tremendous talent. He's a great player. He really is." The offensive line has just two returning starters in senior C Daniel Sanders and sophomore OT Ryan Miller, but there is depth there and if some of the youngsters pan out sooner rather than later, Cody Hawkins and the rest of the skill players will be better for it. DEFENSE: The Buffs were ripped apart by the pass last season, yielding 261.3 ypg through the air to rank 103rd in the nation while coming up with just 19 sa ...

BY MIKE ROSE Yes, it's only the first week of the season, but trust me -- there are plenty of good games to keep an eye on. Each week I'll highlight five that I think are noteworthy. So here we go with the five for Week 1: Saturday, Aug. 30 Saturday features two very good games and a few others that will be interesting. USC (No. 3 AP and No. 2 USA Today) at Virginia, 3:30 p.m.: I think USC's defense will take charge. With defensive tackle Fili Moala, linebackers Brian Cushing and Rey Maualuga, and free safety Travis Mays (who is built like a strong safety at 6-4 and 225), USC has stars on defense. But the Trojans should also do some good things on offense. Quarterback Mark Sanchez, who dislocated his left kneecap about three weeks ago, has made a quick recovery and has been cleared by doctors to play against the Cavaliers. Plus, running back Joe McKnight and wide receiver Vidal Hazelton are rising stars. Virginia won nine games last season, but lost a lot of talent. Still, the Cavaliers will be tough at home. In the end, USC has too much talent and gets a hard-earned, but fairly easy road win. Utah at Michigan (No. 24 in USA Today), 3:30 p.m.: The Rich Rodriguez era begins at The Big House. I'm very curious to see Michigan play. The offense will be a lot more wide open than we're all accustomed to seeing. I don't think Michigan will really be clicking until mid-October. Utah has been predicted to have as high as nine or 10 wins. ...

Filed under: Rockets , Western , NBA Videos I can't understand a single syllable of Chinese, but I do know that if you make it through the first 45 seconds you'll see Shane Battier arriving in China to a throng of adoring fans sometime during the Olympics. What's with the beauty pageant treatment? Being a teammate with Yao Ming has its perks, one of which is that Battier is practically a TV star over there: back in April we told you how his commercial for Peak , a Chinese shoe company, was on non-stop rotation on Chinese television, and as of late July, things hadn't changed. From Daniel Oshinsky of the Rocky Mountain News : I've seen this ad so often now, I've been forced to turn off the TV. I'm terrified to hear its faux Brian McKnight soundtrack one more time, to see this former Duke star splashing through a muddy rice patty again. Other ads for Yao Ming or Liu Xiang or even the Fuwas are on frequently, but it's this Peak ad for Shane Battier that's running on all of CCTV's channels at all hours of the day. Even worse: it's the only ad in the entire Peak campaign. Is this what Jason Kidd can look forward to ? It's not a bad way to live.   Permalink  |  Email this  |  Linking Blogs  |  Comments ...

Filed under: USC , Pac 10 Duh. Not that it's news around these parts, but USC should be good this year. Potentially really good. Talent abounds and there's plenty of energy in the program. On the field USC will field a tremendous defense and potentially an offense better than last year's. The Trojans aren't as interesting or as successful as they once were, but they're so far ahead of most opponents with their talent that its nearly impossible to remove them from early conference and national title consideration. Obligatory introductory yammering, complete. WHY THEY'LL WIN Talent and defense. Since Pete Carroll arrived at USC in 2001, his ability to recruit and create a tough, dominant defense have been the constants. This year is no different with a bevy of future NFL stars on the roster (nevermind those 10 they lost to the draft, there's more like them on the way), particularly on defense. Linebackers Rey Mauauga and Brian Cushing are the headliners, but guys like defensive tackle Fili Moala , safeties Taylor Mays and Kevin Ellison and defensive end Everson Griffen could all star anywhere, no hyperbole. USC will have yet another great defense to keep them in ballgames. On offense the talent will be there, from currently injured quarterback Mark Sanchez to tailbacks Stafon Johnson , Joe McKnight and C.J. Gable . Mix in any of a dozen or so receivers and fullback Stanley Havili behind a top notch line and the pieces are there to ...
