Inkheart stars Brendan Fraser as a guy who reads his kids fairy tales, and (gasp!) they start to come true. F*ck, why hasn’t anyone thought of that before? …Hey. See that headline? That’s French. Pardon my French, but this looks like a piece of shit. ...

You know those posters you'd see at the library as a kid, where it was like a photo of Michael J. Fox or William Hurt or some other celebrity with a book, and it said "READ", and you were like, "Sure, I'll read, but who the fuck is William Hurt? I'm eight"? Brendan Fraser should never be allowed to make one of those. Inkheart Poster [IMPA] ...

Here's the trailer for Inkheart , a movie in which Brendan Fraser's voice has the ability to bring literary characters to life, possibly because his is the only character without an English accent. Hey, B.F., could you pretend you're putting some kind of effort into this? I know you've been coasting for a while on goofy shouting, appearing clueless, and running from a green screen, but come on. I've been waiting 15 years for you to blow your G.D. nose. Could you at least do that? ...

Believe it or not but self proclaimed comic book geek Brendan Fraser has revealed this week that he was offered the chance to play SUPERMAN back when J.J. Abrams was pitching his film six or so years ago. Fraser even tried on the tights and cape. He liked the costume. He even screen tested for the [...] ...

The new City of Ember poster is out and I can't help but wonder if those two crazy kids ever bumped into Fraser and company from Journey To The Center Of The Earth on their subterranean journey? Also, I did not know the little girl could walk on air. The full poster image is below. When are they going to start pimping Bill Murray (who plays the futuristic underground town's mayor) in this movie's promotion? That's the poster I want to see. City of Ember follows a couple of crafty kids who have to uncover the mysteries of their ancient ancestors to find a way out of their underground city before the power runs about and the whole town is plunged into darkness. Based off the young adult scifi novel, Ember opens October 10. ...

ACTOR Brendan Fraser has told how he was offered the role of Superman in an earlier movie project - which he says was far superior to Bryan Singer's 2006 film. The star - who has appeared in The Mummy film series, George of The Jungle and Journey to the Centre of the Earth - said it had been "awesome" to wear the iconic costume for the Superman: Flyby film being developed between 2002 and 2004 from a screenplay by 'Lost' co-creator and executive producer J.J. Abrams. I've attempted to recreate how the actor might have looked in a quick Photoshop image manipulation pictured here. Fraser, 39, said: "They offered it to me! I was so enthusiastic to do it, my teeth were sweating. This is the Man of Steel and it seems to me that each actor that played that role came from relative obscurity, doing radio plays or soap operas, and THAT role (Superman) became who they were identified with for the rest of their days. And that's a big decision to have to make for an actor. "And so I had to think about it hard. And during the time that I was thinking about it, which took me all of 28 minutes, it seems as if then the big monster studio machine and all the machinations behind it, all the cogs and wheels rolling, suddenly it went from an 'offer' to 'subject to a screen test' blah, blah, blah, 'subject to approval'... Speaking in a video interview at VoicesFromKrypton , which is partially transcribed over at ComicBookMovie , Fraser said: "There are on ...

Brendan Fraser was asked to don the super-spandex in the J.J. Abrams' Superman: Flyby film (which was being developed way back in '02- '04). But the incredibly complicated story of Abrams' Superman never panned out, but I still want to see the sweeping Kryptonian civil war trilogy, featuring Lex Luthor as an X-Files agent. Fraser sheds some light on Adrams' script, and we talk about yet another Supes movie that became Hollywood road kill. So what happened — why didn't the Mummy star get the role? Well the whole movie simply imploded around itself. It got as far as Fraser doing some test footage as Superman, which is still out there somewhere. Fraser was so excited, his teeth were sweating, but he still had to think about taking on such an iconic role. He was mulling it over for all of 28 minutes, but then it fell through, he explains to the Coventry Telegraph : It seems as if then the big monster studio machine and all the machinations behind it, all the cogs and wheels rolling, suddenly it went from an 'offer' to 'subject to a screen test' blah, blah, blah, 'subject to approval'... Unless Abrams was looking to do a giant parody of Supes, I really can't even comprehend why he would want Fraser to star in this role. Fraser is at his best when he's playing a comedy role — you know, the wacky, zany hero that turns on the sexy charm to kill some mummies. He has entirely too much personality to play Superman. Even when he's "you-killed ...

VoicesFromKrypton.com has posted an audio interview with Brendan Fraser in which he thinks back on when he almost became Superman... While speaking to actor Brendan Fraser about Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Voices From Krypton editor Edward Gross had the opportunity to speak to actor Brendan Fraser about both films. Additionally, the conversation veered to the J.J. Abrams screenplay for "Superman," for which Fraser was offered the title role. What follows are his reflections of that experience. Hollywood star Brendan Fraser , a self-confessed Aussie Rules Footy fan, was at a recent AFL match between Hawthorn and Carlton at the Telstra Dome. Fraser was in Melbourne promoting the new movie from "The Mummy" series and was one of at least a dozen celebrities on hand to watch the shootout for the Coleman Medal between Lance "Buddy" Franklin and Brendan Fevola in front of a near capacity crowd. Not only that, but he would have also witnessed the International Cup teams parade at half time. Fraser was interviewed during the television coverage of the match and the subject of the Herald Sun article " Brendan Fraser at AFL match in Melbourne ". ...

“The Mummy” is one of those successful movie franchises that should have been left alone. The third installment, “Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” sucked on so many levels — Rachel Weisz’s absence, extensive abuse of CGI, recycled jokes, receding hairline, I could go on and on. Even Rob Cohen couldn’t save this over glorified mess [...] ...

So, The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor isn't a very good movie. The first Mummy flick is cheesy and cartoony fun. But this one goes flat after the first hour. Still, Marc toddled along to hear Brendan Fraser's jet-lagged, possibly lubricated thoughts on death, action adventure flicks and what he WON'T do on YouTube. ...
