A new Smashing Pumpkins single will debut as downloadable content for Guitar Hero World Tour, publisher Activision has announced. The track, "G.L.O.W." will be accompanied by older tunes "1979" and "The Everlasting Gaze" in the downloadable pack, which is vaguely slated for a "post-launch" release. The Smashing Pumpkins will also appear on the game disc with "Today," and singer-songwriter Billy Corgan will be featured as a playable character. Activision has seen it fit to unveil the complete set list for upcoming Guitar Hero: World Tour. Finally, we mere mortals will be able to view, with our own eyes, the mega-ton list of 86 sterling (and not so sterling) songs to be included on the disc when the game arrives later this year (October 27th in the US, November 7th in the UK and Europe). Apparently they’re all master recordings as well, i.e. not performed as a cover by another set of musicians. If you need reminding, this latest outing for Guitar Hero features “a slick newly redesigned guitar controller, drum kit controller and a microphone, as well as an innovative Music Studio music creator that lets players compose, record, edit and share their own rock ‘n’ roll anthems” as well as an “8-player ‘Battle of the Bands' which allows two full bands to compete head-to-head online for the first time ever.” Thank you for the information, Mr. Press Release. We all know that this year Rock Band 2 is going to have competition by Guitar Hero World Tour . Both games have an impressive song lost and features so I wanted to post the complete song list for Guitar Hero World Tour. Some great songs on the list but I also noticed a few songs that will be on both games so here it is. I am personally glad to see competition as it always seems to bring out a better quality of games for the customers. Throw in the fact each bundle is not cheap and we hope this helps you decide. Really, it’s about time. After countless leaks and rumors, Activision has finally revealed all the tracks that will be included on the Guitar Hero: World Tour disc. It’s full of quite a few expected tracks as well as some surprises (Nirvana’s Unplugged version of “About a Girl” FTW). You do have to wonder about the timing of this release though, seeing as Rock Band 2 hits store shelves in two days. Seems like someone’s trying to steal Harmonix’s thunder, eh, Activision? Nineties uber-group Smashing Pumpkins will debut their newest single as downloadable content for music game Guitar Hero World Tour, Activision announced.
