The licks just keep on coming for the New England Patriots . Months after losing their perfect season and Super Bowl to the underrated New York Giants , the Patriots are still in hot water with the media. As if the spying tapes weren't enough, now there is rumor of a Bill Belichick sex tape floating around. The "inside source" who is breaking this story isn't considered very reliable, but he states that Belichick and a married woman were caught on tape having an affair and the husband now is in possession of the tape. We'll see what happens here, but if it surfaced, would you watch it? Hold on while I gag a bit... Original Story: http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2008/07/31/forme... . ...

Does New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick have some kind of videotape fetish? Everyone knows about the so-called Spygate shenanigans and the fallout (including the false story on the Pats taping the Rams, for which sports writer John Tomase is still paying). But the latest rumor linking Bill Belichick to a videotape is a little less [...] ...

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addresses the media during his press conference at Gillette Stadium on Thursday, July 31, 2008. BB: We continue to work through some situational aspects of the game. Of course we worked on goal line and you all saw that. We worked a little more in the red area. We are just trying to pull it all together here. We play a week from today and next week we will have to spend a little more time getting ready for Baltimore [Ravens] but we also have a few more situational things to work on and install. Hopefully in a week, it is hard to believe that it's only a week, we will be ready to go right out here next Thursday night. That is what we are pointing to schedule wise. We still have a lot of stuff to do to be ready for that. We are a lot further along than we were a week ago at this time. We are about where we need to be. Q: How did the team do on the goal line? BB: Well, it was the first time we did it. Some things were ok and there were other things we need to correct and improve on. Q: Are you happy with what you have seen work ethic wise from the defensive line? BB: I think the work ethic has been good. We have a good competitive situation back there where a lot of guys look like they are going to be very competitive with each other and they have been. Not only in training camp but going back to the spring camps. You start over every year. There are always new people in the offensive or defe ...

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addresses the media during his press conference at Gillette Stadium on Monday, July 28, 2008. BB: Well, we’re just rolling through the training camp mode here. We are starting to get into a little bit more situational football. We have the officials coming in tomorrow. They will kind of piggy back up off that in terms of making the players aware of some rules changes and how the games called, especially some of the younger guys. As we build through the week here, our situational football is going to start to pick up - red area, third down end of the game type stuff. Kicking situation and plays, all that type of stuff. In addition to our normal installation and the normal training camp routine we have that aspect going in too. That is what you will be seeing out there the next few days. There is not a lot of breaking news on this end. Q: With the officials coming tomorrow is one of the things they are going to go over the new headset rule? BB: We’re not going to deal with the headset issue until next week. We have enough to do to try to get ourselves straightened out with our normal stuff before we tackle something new. We’re going to try to make sure we have our basic installation in, substitution procedures and all that instead of adding another thing into the mix. I’m sure there are going to be a time where we are not going to be able to use that [radio system] for various reasons. We ar ... Source: www.patriots.com --- 5 days ago
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addresses the media during his press conference at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, July 27, 2008. BB: I think you guys are probably up to speed with the personnel stuff, the signing of LaMont [Jordan] and Nick [Kaczur] coming off the PUP [Players Unable to Perform] list. Worked a little bit in the red area today. Starting to get into a little bit of situational football. Certainly we have a long way to go in our basic regular stuff. We are starting to turn the corner on that a little bit - red area, third down, two minute. We will get into a little bit of short yardage later on in the week, blitz’s and stuff like that. We’ll add a little bit of that everyday but like I said we are kind of in the early training camp mode. We got the first couple of days under our belt and out of the way. Now we are starting to roll through it day after day and grind from meeting to practice, to practice to meeting, to practice to meeting. That’s what camp is for, to build the toughness of your team, build their stamina and build their long-term focus. That’s where we are at. There will be plenty more of it and we need it. I don’t know who’s in charge of weather today but I appreciate that little break. Q: What does LaMont [Jordan] bring to the team? BB: I think LaMont [Jordan] adds some quality depth to our backfield. We played against him a number of times. He’s a tough guy to tackle, hard runner, good in the ... Source: www.patriots.com --- 5 days ago
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addreses the media during his press conference at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday, July 30, 2008. BB: We just had our team meeting this morning and the last thing we did with the team gathered together was give Andre [Tippett] a nice send off. We let him know about our appreciation for what he has done and congratulated him on his selection and soon-to-be induction into the National Football League Hall of Fame this weekend. Although I never coached Andre I saw a lot of him from my perspective as the defensive coordinator of the Giants. I watched him when he played for the Patriots and of course that was an era of a lot of great linebackers. Certainly we had our share of them in New York. Watching Andre and Hugh Green, that was also kind of the end of the era of guys like Jack Lambert and Jack Ham in Pittsburgh. Then there were guys like Michael Singletary, [Harry] Carson, [Andre] Tippett, [Lawrence] Taylor, Hugh Green and all those guys. Andre was one of the guys that our players looked up to and learned a lot from because of his consistent play in every phase of the game. Whether that was against the run, the pass or as a pass rusher. He had outstanding use of his hand techniques and skills with his martial arts background. We didn’t play the Patriots that often but we saw a lot of him on film. He was a guy we all learned from and admired. I learned a lot from him as coach when I watched h ... New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addresses the media during his press conference at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday, August 5, 2008. BB: We are kind of working our way into real game preparations. This is a transitional day for us where we go from true training camp days, where we have one practice, followed by a meeting, then another practice and just grinding through, to now where we really have a focus and our sights are set on Thursday night against the [Baltimore] Ravens. Everything we do from this morning till game time builds up to that point. We are in a little bit of a different mode than we have been in. I am sure the players will make that transition and we will be more into that mode going forward, both in preseason games and trying to get the process ready for all of us for September. That is the program we are on today. Q: Have you decided on how much the starters will play Thursday night or do you have a feel for how much they will play? BB: Not really, we have told everybody to be ready to play and I think they are. We will make those playing time decisions either tonight or tomorrow morning. We want everybody to be ready to go. Not sure what exact situations or time frame that puts them in but we all have to be flexible on that anyway. Things can change and usually do. Each player has been told to be ready to go. When the decision comes for him to play then that is a decision we make not them. They need t ... Source: www.patriots.com --- 5 days ago
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addreses the media during his press conference at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday, July 29, 2008. BB: We had a walk through this morning. We have the officials here so we will have them officiate the different aspects of practice through Thursday as we try to tighten up our techniques in pass coverage, offensive holding, offensive line, play alignments and stuff like that. It will be good to work with them for the next couple of days and as I said yesterday, we will keep progressing in terms of building things together, different situations and starting to tie it all up. By the end of the week, at least on a practice format we should do what we need to do to play a game. Of course, start getting ready for Baltimore [Ravens]. So that's where we are. Q: In general with rookies, how long does it take for them to earn your trust? BB: There is no time frame, I couldn't tell you. Some guys - Lawrence Taylor, a week. Than other players who have been real good football players, sometimes it takes a couple years. It depends on where they come from, what they were asked to do, how much of a transition it is to the team we're on. Sometimes it's who's ahead of them and what the opportunities are. You want to see them keep improving. That is the most important thing when a player continues to work hard and improve than you keep working with them and see where it can go. Once they kind of level off, then yo ... Source: www.patriots.com --- 2 days ago
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addresses the media during his press conference at Gillette Stadium on Monday, August 4, 2008. BB: We start on the Baltimore [Ravens] preparations today, tonight and tomorrow. We will get our three days in on that. Like I said we are just going to have to adjust a little bit on the run there. We don’t really know what they are going to do. The most important thing we are concerned about is more what we are doing at this point. We will play a lot of people, I am sure they will too. It will be a lot less game planning in this one than what we will have in the regular season or even going forward. We will progress a little bit more in each of the next three-preseason games after this. That is where we are at this morning; we are just chugging along here. It will be good to get into the stadium tonight, get that environment. The scoreboard, the situations are a little clearer when you can actually see it up there rather than just yell it out. You can get a more visual and ‘spacial’ effect on it. That will be good too tonight. Q: Laurence [Maroney] said the most important thing this year is his ability to finish. Is that a good assessment? BB: I think everyone has to work on their game. It doesn’t really matter where we were last year individually or as a team. We are all starting from scratch. Laurence is working on everything and finishing plays, whether it be runs, routes, blocks, or wh ... Find more results for Bill Belichick on RSSMicro.com |
