The Battlestar Galactica cast is scheduled to begin shooting September 8, 2008 the second TV Movie that will first air on the SCI FI Channel and then immediately be released to DVD. The 2-hour Movie will act as an extended episode and is set in the “Lay Your Burdens Down” time period, according to Michael Hogan , who plays Colonel Saul Tigh on BSG . Edward James Olmos returns to the director's chair on Monday as the second "Battlestar Galactica" telemovie written by Jane Espenson moves in front of the camera. It's already been reported that it will feature Aaron Douglas as Galen Tyrol, Michael Trucco as Sam Anders and Dean Stockwell as Brother Cavil, but the Chicago Tribune's Maureen Ryan has a few more names to add to the mix. Also expected to appear in the telemovie are Tricia Helfer as Number Six, Grace Park as Boomer, Rick Worthy as Simon, Matthew Bennett as Doral and Callum Keith Rennie as Leoben. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed may have started life as a video game, but it could end up being the latest big screen entry in the Star Wars Movie franchise. That’s despite the game only receiving a tepid response when it was released on the PS2, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 in September. That is at least the view of the game’s project leader Haden Blackman, who told The LA Times : “It’s not impossible. Never say never. George [Lucas] has looked to tell new ‘Star Wars’ stories through the games and with the entire Star Wars Expanded Universe, and then he has also shown a willingness to let the characters come into the films. Look at Aayla Secura, a creation in the [Dark Horse] comic books who became part of the theatrical films.” The game tells the story of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, Starkiller, who Vader rescued years before. Battlestar Galactica and Smallville actor Sam Witwer played the role in the game, so there is a ready made actor for the role should it ever make its way on to the big screen. The thing is, as good as the original Star Wars trilogy was, the trilogy of prequels was average at best, and only saved by the magnificent Ewan McGregor. And as for the recent Clone Wars, well that was an abomination that displeased both fans of the live action movies and kids alike. Part of me wishes George Lucas had cherished and nurtured Star Wars name than he has, but then, it has made him a multi-millionaire so who am I to argue with ...
