This morning President Bush made a national speech addressing our current economic woes. But if you were watching WNBC-TV, you might have been a little confused. During the speech, a television advertisement for the Broadway musical A TALE OF TWO CITIES suddenly cut Bush off for a few seconds. "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times," the confused viewers learned. Some dark imagery, plus a pic of James Barbour, was shown. And then WNBC cut back to Bush. "During the President's speech this morning, we experienced a 4-second technical issue and inadvertently interrupted his message," WNBC said in a statement.
