Local police said Suspect Jeffrey Merritt, 44, ran past Da Silvas on the way to his getaway car after robbing the Bank. The waitress the Tampa Tribune reports she wished to remain unidentified reportedly saw Merritt running with something and looking behind him. She chased him down, yelling, Freeze or Im going to shoot and then tackled him. She did not have a gun, but the bluff worked, and the Suspect surrendered. The Cayce Department of Public Safety is looking for a man they believe robbed a Knox Abbott Drive Bank and is wanted in connection with several other Bank robberies in the state. Police believe Frank Douglas, 49, robbed the First Citizens Bank in Cayce on Monday. Investigators identified Douglas after working with the FBI, city of Columbia, Aiken County, Kingstree and Beaufort County law enforcement agencies where other Bank robberies were reported. Reports indicate Douglas uses several different aliases, Social Security numbers and birthdates. Sacramento County Sheriff's Department Robbery detectives are seeking information leading to the identity of subject responsible for the Robbery of an Arden Arcade Bank, Sacramento Crime Alert officials report. At 4:29 p.m. Sept 23, the Suspect (left photo) entered the Bank of America at 4300 Arden Way, approached a teller with the threat of a gun and demanded money, officials report. After receiving the money the Suspect fled in an unknown direction. The Suspect is described as a white male adult, mid- to late-40s, 5-foot-7, weighing 160 pounds, wearing a baseball cap and a long-sleeve shirt. It’s been a little over a year since the south branch of Cornerstone Bank was hit by an armed robber. For the past year, local law enforcement officials have been diligently working to find the man who was filmed by surveillance cameras while he threatened local Bank tellers, demanding cash and claiming he not only had a gun but a bomb, as well. Wednesday afternoon, York Chief of Police Don Klug says he’s confident they have their man — and he’s in custody. “Kansas authorities have taken into custody a 34-year-old man, who was arrested at 6 p.m., on Oct. 6, by the Kansas Highway Patrol in the Topeka area,” Chief Klug explained. “He was recognized as a possible Suspect by people in the Abilene area, who notified us. We obtained an arrest warrant following a thorough investigation and the Kansas authorities provided service on the warrant.” Chief Klug said David Norman Haus, Jr., from Abilene, Kan., is currently in custody at the Shawnee County Department of Corrections.
