For those of our readers who have spent the day blissfully unaware of the rapidly tumbling Dow Jones Industrial Average, get your ashes and sackcloth ready. Down 777.68 points or 6.98 percent of total volume at the time of this writing, the Dow has officially moved from “in the toilet” status all the way to “that toilet is looking awfully good from here.” Happy Monday. Ford has reached similar lows today with its shares falling to $4.40, a loss of 8.52 percent. The biggest hit by percentage for the biggish name automakers on the day was the Indian Tata Motors Limited, whose price fell from $7.29 to $6.18, a drop of 13.21 percent; while the biggest dollar loss was suffered by Toyota whose stock dropped by $8.05.
