On Thurs., July 31, at 7 p.m. The Hingham Public Library will host Author Marc Songini for a discussion and slide presentation based on his new book, "The Lost Fleet: A Yankee Whaler's Struggle against the Confederate Navy and Arctic Disaster." The Lost Fleet recounts Williams's remarkable career, including a daring escape from the Confederate cruiser Alabama and the rescue and salvage of lost ships off Alaska's coast. Marc Songini has crafted a family's history, a narrative of true adventure and death on the high seas, and a detailed ...
