Computer: Dell Inspiron 530 Operating System: Vista 2006 CD burner: Windows (no version given) CD disc used: Sony CD-R Supremas 700mb Experience level: novice - first attempt to use cd burner Problem: I found some mp3 music files on a myspace page that I wanted to burn to a cd. I used the Windows cd burner that came with my computer, and was able to burn a cd that plays in my computer Windows Media Player. When I tried to play the cd on my Bose Accoustic Wave Music System, I get an extremely loud buzzing noise. I checked my Bose literature and there is nothing to address playing burned cds. Question #1: Did I need to format the cd disc before burning (I tried burning a cd twice - the first disc without formatting and the second disc after formatting - it made no difference in the final product as both discs buzzed. Note: I used 2 fresh discs when doing this). Question #2: Why would the disc play in the Windows Media Player but not on my Bose system? Thanks very much for any help you can provide. ...
