Blevins On behalf of the estate of Elray Conn, Helen Conn filed suit against A.O. Smith Corp. and 27 other companies on allegations that Elray was intentionally exposed to Asbestos, causing his death. Conn filed suit in the Jefferson County District Court on June 19. Conn is represented by Provost Umphrey attorney Bryan Blevins. Blevins is a prolific filer of Asbestos suits, averaging four new cases per month in Jefferson County. According to the plaintiff's petition, Conn worked as laboratory analyst, maintenance supervisor and contract administrator, where he worked with Asbestos-containing products and materials, "which caused him to suffer from Asbestos-related diseases and other industrial dust diseases." The suit does not give specifics on Conn's employment, or his injury. "Defendants manufactured and/or sold and distributed Asbestos-containing products which were unreasonably dangerous and defective," the suit says. "All of the Asbestos products placed in the stream of commerce by the Defendants reached the end product users without substantial change. All of these products were defective and unreasonably dangerous. Plaintiff invokes the doctrine of strict liability and claims the products were defective in their marketing. Such defects were a producing cause of the Plaintiff's injuries and/or death." The suits defendants include companies such as Lockheed Martin, Owens Illinois and Viacom.    What happens when you roll a ball of snow in a bunch of other snow? It gets larger! That's kind of what happened when the Minot School District began rennovating some classrooms at Jim Hill Middle School a couple of years ago...suddenly more work needed to be done. Debbie Kuehn tells us about that... As the sun bakes down on another summer vacation day ... it appears all quiet here at Minot's Jim Hill Middle School... But inside... it's anything but quiet... the bang of the hammer... the cry of the table saw... and the thump of workboots hint this is anything but a vacation... Dr. David Looysen/ MPS Superintendent-So there's a lot of people working here right now. It started out as a project to upgrade some science rooms... Looysen says that's when the district discovered it needed to upgrade the entire electrical system.... Dr. Looysen-And we found that the electrical grounding was done through the conduit rather than another wire run... as a result, the conduits were rusting out so the grounding wasn't good so we had to redo the wiring. which then led to tearing out the aesbestos in the ceilings... which led to....this! Cindy Mau/ Jim Hill Principal-When school got out the last week, we did remove everything from every single classroom in a very concrete sequential way, and we put everything away in the gym and sealed it. Today, the school gymnasium looks something like a large garage sale. The contents of each and every cla ...

Once plaintiffs’ lawyers attracted potential Asbestos plaintiffs, they had to convert them into actual plaintiffs. This “production” process is at the heart of the overall Asbestos litigation scam. As noted, the screenings typically occurred in vans or trailers in parking lots. The procedures inside were laughable: Inside the trailers, screeners took “occupational exposure histories” (which were [...] ...
