Maricarrol Kueter, a South Dakota native who has been the managing editor of the Argus Leader since 2003, was named executive editor of the media company Friday. Kueter replaces Randell Beck, who became president and publisher Aug. 6, when Arnold Garson was named president and publisher of the Louisville, Ky., Courier-Journal. "To be executive editor of the paper I grew up reading is very special and is not something I take lightly," said Kueter, a Humboldt native who joined the Argus Leader in 1990.
