ok, i got 1 macbook pro with 2 itunes libraries on there. one of them, i'd like to stream to the Apple Tv. i don't want to stream the other one. is this possible with Apple Tv? can you specificy WHICH itunes library you stream, or does it just stream the one currently in use? thanks in advance ...

Hi Guys, Been using the Apple Tv succesfully for a number of months. I've been seeing on average, maybe 10 photos out of 100 transferred between my Intel-x86 based laptop and Apple Tv, that my photos (taken with an SLR nikon camera) are sometimes appearing on the Apple Tv as 'broken' or corrupted.. the photos' still 'show' however they are either distorted or discoloured with 'lines' throughout the picture... I'm not sure why this is happening.. I rang Apple they suggested it was because of my router being too close to other radio signals like the microwave or the cordless phone.. both were 'off' and unplugged during a text, and some of the photos transferred still showed up corrupted. On my PC they are fine and crystal clear. Any ideas? ...

I have a 14-month old Apple Tv that has worked perfectly since I bought it. However, starting about 2 weeks ago, the Apple Tv has been unable to join any wireless network that requires *encryption*. The Apple Tv has no problem joining an unencrypted/unsecured network. The Apple Tv lost its ability to join encrypted networks within about a week after I upgraded to the 2.1 version of the Apple Tv software. My Apple Tv has never before had any problems connecting to my wireless router (a Linksys WRTP54G-VR), and nothing has changed about my wireless network's settings in the last 18 months, leaving me very puzzled. After I type in the correct 26 character alphanumeric encryption code after selecting "WEP 40/128-bit ASCII", the Apple Tv reports, "There was a problem connecting to the network. There was a problem with your network connection. Check your settings and try again. (-6)" I am 100% positive I am supplying the correct encryption code, as I am very experienced with networking and have 4 other devices that connect perfectly to my wireless router using 128-bit WEP encryption, including my iPhone, iMac, and 2 IBM ThinkPad notebook computers, so this definitely is not a case of my mistyping the 26 character encryption key or getting CaPiTaLiZaTiOn wrong. When I disable encryption on my own router, the Apple Tv connects to it with no problem, so signal strength is not an issue. I can also join other unsecured networks with no problem. * ...

I was mistaken in thinking that the Apple Tv actually DL'd the media to its drive as one of the problems I constantly get is the music feed dropping. I switched to the Apple Tv in part to avoid this as I used to get this all the time with my airport express. I bought the 160 gig as I thought it would storing the media on it. I currently have a cable modem going to a Linksys wireless router. Would using interference robustness on my iMac make any difference in this scenario? My father in law called me to tell me his aTV automatically erased today and all fo his music and photos were gone. After explaining to him that these things dont happen by themselves (it must have been his fault), I proceeded to walk him through the process of reconnecting the aTV to iTunes (it needed an update of course) and then re-syncing the content back onto the aTV. Low and behold....I go tos tart MY aTV about 2 hrs later and voila! Its erased as well. I have had the aTV since day 1 and have helped dozens of friends and family hook theres up too. Im pretty good at getting around the features fo the aTV. I have never seen this happen and for it to happen to two in one day MSUT be related to some update. Had this problem for a while. Apple Tv says it can't find my shared library although network connection is still OK (youtube works). In iTunes the ATV isn't listed on the left and in preferences it's status is shown as 'syncing'. A reset of ATV or iTunes doesn't fix this, but if I restart the router everything is OK again. I downgraded ATV firmware, still the same. I put in my old Netgear 54g wireless router, and as far as I can make out bar extensive testing the problem goes away so I'm thinking the router - a Linksys WAG160N - is to blame. What 'n' routers are people using here that they do not experience issues with? Or should I give up with wireless and get the ATV a nice wired connection to solve the problem? My Netgear 54g router works great on wireless, but performance isn't quite good enough for HD streaming - I get loss of sound/video sync and dropped frames, plus takes a few seconds to start playing after skipping chapters etc ...
