Filed under: Sunday Wrap-Up , NFL Fantasy , NFL New Studs The Denver Broncos and Jay Cutler have been playing the role of school yard bully the first two weeks of the NFL season, causing two different defensive backs to have awkward, game changing penalties called against them. Last week, it was DeAngelo Hall who was beaten soundly, time and time again as Eddie Royal did his best Jerry Rice impersonation late Monday night. Hall kept playing the role of, well, DeAngelo Hall (usually reserved for matchups with Steve Smith though). And today, as Bill Williamson notes , it's Antonio Cromartie 's turn. Cromartie finally drove Marshall out of bounds. Cromartie kept driving and was called for a personal foul. The Broncos ended up taking a 14-3 lead on a Jay Cutler touchdown pass to Tony Scheffler. On Denver's next drive, Cromartie was charged with another personal foul after tackling Marshall. Cutler then hit Scheffler for another touchdown as Denver jumped up on San Diego, 21-3. After each penalty, Cromartie, who was questionable with a hip injury, was jumping up and down and clapping his hands. Somehow, through all of this -- an additional five yard penalty to keep a Broncos drive alive in the middle of the fourth didn't help either -- the Chargers are only down by one point. This is, of course, no help to Cromartie, who has allowed Brandon Marshall to pick up a whopping 14 catches for 133 yards and a touchdown. Clearly, when I told you to ...

The Patriots (3-1) visit the Chargers (2-3) on Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium (8:15 p.m. EDT). Here are some items that stand out about the Chargers, who are expected to wear their Power-Blue alternate jerseys for the game: 1) Pass rush likes to bring five. The Patriots are likely preparing for a steady diet of blitzes, as the Chargers generally like to rush five or more players. San Diego's defense, however, has not found its edge as the unit is giving up more passing yards per game than any NFL club. That's hard to believe with talented corners like Antonio Cromartie and Quentin Jammer. Third-down defense, where the Chargers rank sixth in the NFL, has covered up some of the unit's problems. 2) Darren Sproles a top weapon. Running back LaDainian Tomlinson has not got things going consistently (89 carries, 331 yards, 3.7 avg.; 15 catches, 80 yards), but the team's other back, Darren Sproles, has been exceptional. Sproles has 130 yards on 26 carries (5.0 avg.) and 139 yards on six receptions, which includes a 66-yard catch-and-run score. Sproles, a smaller player at 5-6, 181 pounds can be tough to locate behind larger blockers. Sproles also has a 103-yard kickoff return, and can be tough on both kickoff and punts. 3) Slow starters. Things haven't gone right for the Chargers early in games, from the opening toss. The team has lost all five opening tosses this year, and has scored just 16 points in the first quarter. In the entire first half ...

The San Diego Chargers have the worst pass defense in the league. That is not an opinion but, in fact, what the statistics scream. They lost twice when the pass defense collapsed against Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos. Despite Antonio Cromartie, who led the NFL with 10 interceptions last year, this group has proven itself to be terrible. And that's good for the Dolphins, who have no consistent game-changing receivers. General manager Jeff Ireland has admitted he's... ...

Filed under: NFL Position Rankings , Fantasy Football FanHouse fantasy positional rankings are compiled weekly by the staff in order to provide answers to possible lineup questions. These are assuming most leagues use Fleaflicker 's standard scoring structure. If you need clarification, you need more players ranked, or have funky league rules, feel free to shoot us an email question . The San Diego Chargers entered the season as an elite defensive unit. They had the most D/ST points last year by a decent margin in most formats, housed premier stat-mongers in Shawne Merriman and Antonio Cromartie -- who led them to a league-leading 30 picks, eight more than any other team -- and had every important piece returning. Well, now they've lost Merriman for the season, Cromartie's only shown up once fantasy-wise, and the unit has lost its swagger. Now they face a Tom Brady -less Patriots squad, and I'm not even sure I'd start them ... how far the mighty have fallen. Good luck this week. I count seven defenses I'd feel comfortable starting. That's it. Hopefully you are fortunate to own one of those seven, because this is not a defensive week bearing down upon us. 1. Giants, @ CLE 2. Bears, @ ATL 3. Vikings, vs. DET 4.
