Vogue editor Anna Wintour is the international arbiter of fashion, recognized in an instant by her haircut and large sunglasses. But what does she really look like? Thanks to the strength of today's digital cameras and the below AP photo from Thursday's Tommy Hilfiger show, cropped several ways to show every pixel, now you can know. Still the queen. Photo: Getty Images Last month, the Times ran a rather flattering profile of Russian Vogue editor Aliona Doletskaya, who’s successfully brought a shot of glamour to Putin’s people. The press got itself in a tizzy over Dolteskaya’s rising star, and last week the Post reported that an announcer at a Russian GQ event flat-out referred to Doletskaya as “the next editor of American Vogue .” Well, that’s going to cause a bit of a freak-out! But we don’t believe a word of it, and here’s why: For the last decade we've heard rumors of Anna Wintour's imminent demise, and yet, the ice queen lives to rule another season. But names will always be bandied about; herewith, a rundown of all the other recent would-be usurpers to her throne. ...

It's difficult to wrangle André Leon Talley for a substantial interview in the tents, but Mediabistro did a very smart thing and sat down with Talley at his favorite diner in White Plains near his country house. Which is pretty much the exact opposite of Fashion Week (unless he goes to a diner where everyone wears five-inch Louboutins, which we wouldn't entirely rule out). He revealed that he and Anna Wintour can basically read each other's minds, he has "no desire" to hit up Bungalow 8, and that the Vogue he knows is nothing like the one parodied in The Devil Wears Prada . Some highlights: Talley has stayed on so long at Vogue because he stays close to Anna Wintour. The first day I went into the office to meet the former editor-in-chief Grace Mirabella, Anna sent me a note saying, 'I'm so glad you're on board.' My relationship with Anna [Wintour, Vogue editor-in-chief] is one where we understand each other. We can communicate silently. He thinks Candace Bushnell is creative. Devil Wears Prada author Lauren Weisberger? Not so much. Sex and the City was a great thing because it's very positive — and not because I had a cameo. It was a great movie, a great movie for women, a great movie about New York coming out of Candace Bushnell, who worked at Vogue and didn't write a tell-all book — she created something original. She took her own saga of being the girl in New York and created something which is far more creative than The Devil ...

Anna Wintour is the scary domineering overlord of Vogue and, by extension, the entire fashion industry, but did you also know that she is quite old! Fifty-eight years, if you want to split one of the fabulous hairs on her perfectly bobbed head. This fascinating little tidbit was made abundantly clear by the Huffington Post, which for no apparent reason turned into WWTDD yesterday afternoon and posted large high-quality pictures of Wintour's 58-year-old skin . It's seems Vogue has lots of beauty secrets to share, but none that can turn Wintour's face and arms into the tight, baby-smooth softness that her waif-y models possess. (No wonder she's never been on the cover !) With no explanation for this bizarre swipe—and Wintour obviously still filming the video rebuttal for her MySpace page—the New York Observer took it upon themselves to remind the world that the Huffington Post is also run by a scary and equally old lady with clogged pores. So what's up with all the cheap shots? Well ... just look at them! They old! . . . Photos via AP/INFGoff ...

As Tropical Storm Hanna's sloppy seconds roared through New York on Saturday afternoon, bedraggled guests poured into Alexander Wang's show and were greeted with two welcome sights: small bottles of white wine and Anna Wintour's shiny, bone-dry bob. Naturally, the Vogue editrix bore no effects of the inclement weather. Either she has the world's best umbrella-wrangler, or even the rain is afraid to bump into her. She also survived wearing a tight ribbed sweater on a humid day with nary a perspiration stain. We wish our sweat glands were so obedient. Maybe she secretly had hers removed in an exotic operation in Guam. You heard it here first. Daisy Lowe — rocker Gavin Rossdale's surprise daughter — fared less elegantly. Clutching a petite white pooch who looked as drenched as her brunette bangs, Daisy perched in the front row next to boyfriend Mark Ronson , whose severe-storm gear of choice was tight mid-thigh plaid shorts, a T-shirt that read "Bikini Kill," and sneakers. We can't wait until CNN's live-on-the-scene hurricane reporters adopt this approach. Down the way, Erin Wasson merrily chirped to reporters about how pieces from her jewelry line, Low Luv, would appear on Wang's models. And we can't quite believe Jessica Szohr is the first Gossip Girl cast member we've seen at the tents, considering she plays our least favorite character (tied with Jenny Humphrey). In fact, we've spied her twice today: once, studiously avoiding pho ...

Graydon Carter and his team at Vanity Fair wisely, and not inappropriately, added Matt Drudge to their "New Establishment" list of important people readers should shamelessly imitate and pander to. The internet gossip ranks at 74, just above Donatella Versace and just below Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. More importantly, he posted the magazine's full list to his highly-trafficked website, thus encouraging his readers to go buy the magazine and figure out why, say, Vogue Anna Wintour has suddenly been added (mysterious) and why Russian strongman Vladimir Putin is entering the rankings this year at number (gimmick to generate buzz and boost sales). Other strange additions, and the full list, after the jump. Marc Jacobs is "returning?" Well, if the designer can leverage his sex life into a New Yorker profile, he's probably a decent fit here, in the pages of the New Yorker 's more fashion-conscious corporate sibling. Movie moguls Harvey and Bob Weinstein plummet to 87 from 41. But they're so used to sinking feelings they probably barely notice them anymore. Venture capitalist (and godfather to Google and Yahoo ) Michael Moritz fell to 88 from 56. Is the shine off Google that badly? What an odd time to add Walter Mossberg to the list. The grossly overpaid Wall Street Journal technology columnist was recently replaced on CNBC by the Times ' David Pogue, whose theater background and hammy stage personality make him by far the ...

The crack Observers over at our favorite pink website have taken note of something truly baffling. Vogue hair Nazi Anna Wintour wore the same exact blue dress OMG three times this summer. (And a green version of the dress once!?) We think this is truly a powerful sign of something, with potential consequences for commodity prices and Tropical Depression Hanna and ovulation cycles throughout the Wasilla Valley, so we "interpreted" her statement the voice of Miranda Priestly : Oh why hello there lumpen. I'll bet some of the woefully untrained eyes staring catatonically at these particular specimens of my ubiquitous, iconic silhouette merely see a woman wearing a dress, the same dress, a blue dress to be more specifically unspecific, on three separate occasions. But who else wore a blue dress? Ha ha, that's right, the Devil ; brilliant work, not really. Now if your "blog"-enfeebled minds weren't so blithely incapable of retaining even the most basic business memes , you might recall that it is not blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean , and also that in 2002, Oscar De La Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns, which became not only the basis for a massive trickle-down ceruleanstravaganza, but by extension the most memorable line of a blockbuster movie I which I might have chosen this moment to wryly and with my eminent good humor, reference. But why ? Was it my little joke with Oscar, not coincidentally t ...
